I really want to be able to recommend this game, but it crashes every two minutes

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terribly optimized. Crashes constantly, including in the middle of fighting Artorias, meaning I lost all my progress against him. None of the improvements you’d expect from a remake like placing bonfires in sorely needed locations. Just get the original version, remastered’s only saving grace is that the player base is more active

The fact that this game doesn't have cloud sync pretty much eliminates its ability to function as a steam deck game. The moment I opened it on my deck and saw that the only option was "new game" was the moment I stopped playing

Broken, slow, and built somehow to generate nothing but vast sprawling suburbs. It's unclear why but the game seems to only generate high demand for low density residential zoning, no matter what. It was a struggle to get even a few high density buildings occupied. On top of that, there's the nonsensical decision to only allow residential taxes to be adjusted based on education level rather than based on income as they were in the previous game.

I have an RTX 3050 and an i9-11900K and despite that this game still chugged at an incredibly slow speed once the population surpassed about 50k. Maybe this game will improve eventually through modding or updates but in its current state I can't recommend it

This is by far my favorite puzzle game of the year! I haven’t seen a game with mechanics this fun and inventive since Superliminal or Baba Is You

A fun and charming farm game with surprisingly accurate dinosaurs (and other archosaurs), this was a huge treat for a paleontology nerd like myself. Definitely recommend if you wanna see a Stegosaurus harvest wheat with its thagomizer

Overall an amazing game and one of the more beginner friendly FromSoft games at that. There’s so much build customization available that so far every boss I was stuck on could be solved by just switching to a different build. If I have one major criticism it’s that getting S rank on some of the missions is entirely random if not borderline impossible (looking at you Investigate BAWS Arsenal 2). At this point I just hope they patch the ranking criteria for some of them and maybe add a system to keep track of which chests you’ve already found, since that’s also a pain if you’re collectible hunting.

Wow this game is fantastic! The combat system has its issues, and I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of graphics settings, but nonetheless this game is a gorgeous way to introduce a classic title to someone like me who never played the original

This VR video has pretty stunning visuals and solid narration from a fairly convincing Morgan Freeman impersonator. The issue is that it involves moving at incredibly high speeds with not player control and without displaying any part of the player's body to ground them. I'm someone who's more or less immune to motion sickness in VR. Alien Isolation is probably the only game I've played that's given me motion sickness as badly as this did. Within a few minutes the headaches and nausea it caused were bad enough that I had to take off my headset. I enjoyed it at first, but the motion sickness really ruined the experience for me.

As is I wouldn't recommend this game. I understand that it's in alpha, but the price is just too much for the barebones experience it is. Hold off on buying until they add more playable dinosaurs and fix some of the bugs.
