Massively fun, sorta sad that there isn't an English Narrator option, but even not understanding a word he's saying, the tone and inflection bring SO much more to the captions. I completed it in a single sitting I enjoyed it so much, though did wind up finishing the game and returning a few hours later to give my fingers a rest and then took out the most difficult boss, I hate that guy, so bloody annoying.

That's something else, this game IS a button masher, which normally I dislike, but I really didn't notice all that much till my fingers needed a break after goddess knows how many hours of continuous play. Did break one of my keyboard keys from mashing, thank you mechanical keyboards, Cherry switches, and easily popped on/off buttons. ^.-

Update: Huh, wow, I finally figured out how to edit my reviews!! Congrats to me! Either way, I should add that there has been an English narrator for a while now. But I will comment, when I came back to the game to play it again after a while and it had been updated that I personally enjoyed the Japanese narrator better then the English one, who I felt was just so much more expressive. So I will recommend that if you get and play this game to try out the different narrator languages. ^.^

Pros:
* Timeless graphics (i.e. non-intensive system load and still beautiful and artistic, like a painting of lilies from 1000 years ago in japan).
* Engaging storyline.
* Simple yet powerful controls. (It took me a slight adjustment period, minimal keybinds, character building/log/etc windows are accessed through Terminals you interact with in-world, not a key on your keyboard, it's really liberating honestly.)
* A pleasant mixture of heavy action (in-world feel and combat), RPG (character building is important), and a splash of 'strategy' (combat element that freezes in-game time and allows you to plan and execute a series of actions before time unfreezes).
** (I personally define as Action RPG with Cyberpunk/Sci-Fi overtones. To me 'strategy' means controlling 6+ units, and in this game it is very easy to only ever have 1, the main character Red, with the possibility of a few more.)

Cons:
* Not many and only minor. In the end this comes down to personal preferences. A little too much of X, or not enough of Y.
* This game combines a lot of different elements but only focuses heavily on a few.
* For scripters/coders like myself, there is a lot of really great humor that I fear would pass a larger audience by.

Special Note:
* I was really impressed with an extremely tasteful transgender reference. It was quite polite and respectful, and for those not familiar with such individuals they would not even notice the reference.

Conclusion:
* I originally procured this game because I loved Bastion. I'm just now getting around to playing it, and I am very glad that I finally am.
