“My daughter sees men as little more than adornments. Her only real interest is in herself. She wants to be desired, to see how far she can lean men. Is not that she wants their love. Just a boost to her ego. That's all she cares about.”, ― Junji Ito, Tomie

Valheim allows the player to take the world into their own hands and create something anew, whether you be an aggressive battle-hungry warrior, an architect with a keen eye with creative ideas, or a dungeon-explorer looking for your next big score.

The game starts out slow if you haven't played an RPG or MMO before. However, a sense of workmanship is needed as you're to going to want to gather a number of different resources. Wood, rocks, food, etc. all the necessities to make sure you have the right items on your voyage.

Speaking of items, the crafting system if phenomenal. Rather your items be laid out, you have to go and collect specific items for them to be unlocked and ready to craft. Upgrading your workbench and crafting stations allows for advanced weaponry and clothing. The clothing in the game, relative to the style of the game, is in the middle of detailed yet minimal. On the topic of game's style, based on the pictures I sent to friends and their impressed glances it's appealing and breathtaking scenery ALMOST makes going to fight the terribly strong mobs almost worth it.

When it comes to to play-style it really depends on the player. Are you an archer wielding arrows of poison, fire, and frost? Or beserker who gets up close and personal with battle axes and sword in hand? Or perhaps both, which is even more fun as the combat in this game is similar to DS3 with parrying, blocking, and countering. Take heed as this is no hack-and-slash stealth, potions, and being prepared for voyages is a must as dying could lead to rage-quits, frustration and monitor breaking.

And in your downtime you could start a farm, raise some crops, become a chef and make some stew, or practice alchemy and make some potions -- all of these things will make your time in Valheim easy and comfortable and help you relax until you've got to go back into action. But beware as if you don't go and hunt enemies yourself, they will come for you!

In conclusion, if you're looking for a new RPG to play with friends (or even by your lonesome as I found it most appealing) with an amazing crafting system, distinct weaponry, creative building structure, and A LOT of secrets to the lore of why theirs a glowing tree in sky...TRY THE GAME!
