Considerably weaker story than Zero Dawn but the better game overall. Reminds me a bit of Mass Effect 2 in that respect (surely a coincidence that both are the middle children of trilogies 😛). If you liked the previous game you will almost certainly like this one.

Decent PC port performance and features wise, I'm getting 100fps @1440p ultra without upscaling on a 3090 with dips in populated areas and the Burning Shores. A different league to the PS4 I played on at release. Default controls are not exactly ideal, I would suggest turning off double tap dodge and rebinding the shieldwing so that it isn't on the same key as grapple ASAP.

Solid 9/10. Excellent characters, good story, great gameplay, excellent art style and solid graphical quality.

Some room for improvement in the camera system (I like the Native Camera Tweaks mod) and the last act is a bit less polished than the first two. Would have liked a little more interaction between companions at camp and a final mission that involves all of them rather than just the usual 4 member party (a bit like ME2) but you can't have everything.

If you like RPGs, and even if you don't normally like turn based systems, this is a must buy.

Legendary campaign is of a similar gameplay quality as that of the one from Witch Queen, so pretty good, and I really like a lot of the new changes to build crafting and the new subclass. However the utterly terrible narrative, bad characterisation and massive number of reused assets (both with map objects and weapons, as opposed to a normal $10 season which gets all new weapons) indicate to me that this DLC was made on an incredibly short timetable and it really, really shows.
I could write an essay here on all the dumb stuff that made no sense or describe how disjointed it all feels between different characters apparently recalling alternate versions of events which change depending on which voice lines they're currently reading despite that event only happening about two minutes ago, but that would all be more effort than Bungie put into writing it, so I won't bother.
What I will say is it all feels like a massive kick in the teeth to go from around two years of solid narrative and coming off the back of the truly great DLC we got in Witch Queen to suddenly get this objectively far worse piece of content, and all this with only a year to go before the conclusion of the big 10-year story arc when narrative cohesion really matters most (and can Bungie even be trusted to bring it to a good conclusion at this point? I'm not sure I do).

"Flight" model is very good, core gameplay is fun, progressing through ships and upgrades feels good. Unfortunately the game is practically on life support until early 2021 (delayed from late 2020) when the next large paid expansion is supposed to come out, with the only content release between today and next year being fleet carriers that were themselves delayed almost a year. There seems to be a large disconnect between the developers and players (the classic "none of them play their own game" issue we see so much these days), so what's released and what players want to play are sometimes very different.

Stick to lower ranks (i.e 4 or less). The game is actively designed to not be playable without paying real money for premium account boosters or vehicles at any higher rank than that by draining you of Silver Lions (game currency) when forced to pay repair cost upon death. But don't take my word for it, here's Gaijin's quote:

"... Premium vehicles will always have a specified income higher than researchable vehicles and reduced repair cost, which sets a positive average balance for these vehicles. Premium vehicles of high ranks both have an increased reward and are profitable, unlike researchable vehicles."

I find the game fun at most ranks and in most gamemodes but probably wouldn't if I didn't buy premium account once a year. I could write a damn essay on all the ways they've gotten greedier with monetisation over the last 5 years or so (and may do at some point) but Gaijin pretty much summed it up for me, so there you go.
