Where to Start....

Deus Ex: Human Revolution was one of my favorite games to play. I played it so much that I literally mastered the game, (Got every ending, got every achievement). So when I saw that Deus Ex: The Fall was on steam, of course I was excited about buying it...But given the couple hours I've sat and played it, my excitefulness has changed to a much more negative feeling..

Deus Ex: The Fall follows Ben Saxon, a Former British SAS Agent turned Aug, as well as Government Agent gone rogue Anna Kelso, as they hide from the Illuminati and their elite team of mercenaries known as the Tyrants. That's pretty much all I can really say in terms of a story, otherwise I'd be spoiling the game..

Many previous Human Revolution players will find the same gameplay elements in The Fall, however this time around, there's much more problems. Above all, I noticed constant glitches or stutters during gameplay, many bugs such as getting stuck on cover, being unable to click out of a menu, trying to grab an item with an NPC standing nearby and the game thinks you're trying to talk to the NPC, little to no ammo for non-lethal weaponry, and an in-game market you can use to buy new guns, ammo, or various items with the in-game "Credits", however everything is overpriced making the system completely pointless. One thing I was very annoyed about, was the inability to sell weapons picked up from enemies back to the market for credits...

Despite knowing it was previously a mobile game, Deus Ex: The Fall is just ugly, running the game on the highest settings, character models look dreadful, the world looks bland, and many graphical glitches occur at various times for no explained reason. Players who do not like the layout of the control system will find no way of reconfiguring the controls, which is problematic for some.

All in All, Deus Ex: The Fall is not worth the $10.00 asking price. The game is no longer than one and a half to two hours long (pending you do the sidequests), and doesn't offer much difficulty. Even on New Game Plus, where supposedly the difficulty is "increased", I never had a problem completing the game. If you really want to play it, at least wait for it to be on Sale for $3.00 or less...or if you want to experience the story without playing the game, then you should know that the game follows the exact same story as the book "Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect" by James Swallow. This is one time when the book is definitely better than the Game!
