This is a beautifully weird cough-syrup-overdose of a well optimized VR game that manages to spook and soothe at the same time. Anyone who loves impossible architecture and dread will love the combination found here. I have whatever the opposite of megalophobia is (as noted by the developer in the games notes) so this game did a lot for me as I craned my neck in order to see the impossibly tall structures flying by at 120 fps.

And to its credit, just when this game seemed to be a trippy alien geography walking simulator, it throws a curveball at the end that will probably haunt my dreams for the foreseeable future. There's also a decent physics engine in here which is not unheard of with UE4 games but clearly the developer took some time to make sure things felt right.

And even though the game states that Index users running the VR beta will crash, I never saw that happen (and am running an Index with the Steam VR beta always active). My controls were mapped correctly and it never dropped from 120 fps and definitely never crashed, so maybe those problems have been resolved in the numerous post-launch updates.

I'd love to play the last 10 minutes again for the first time, holy *$(#
