This visual novel holds a special place in my heart ever since it came out and I'm really glad it's finally on Steam. A truly miraculous experience and a timeless classic.

Usually my patience for visual novels wears thin, but this one is an exception. This VN is essentially a "choose-your-adventure" genre that respects your time and it kept me engaged throughout its entirety. The choices you make are plentiful and I love the interactions between the characters and the consequences behind them. The voice acting, the music, and the visuals are great and it's best to play this without any spoilers or expectations.

If you played VNs like Doki Doki Literature Club or Hatoful Boyfriend, this visual novel is for you.

This game was an experience with lots of twists and turns that kept me wanting to explore more. I never ever got bored with it and I loved everything the game had to offer. I liked the Narrator and the choices you make in the game, and there's plenty of replayability after you finished it.

Early Access Review
As of this being an Early-Access game, this game is pretty solid and I loved that it pays a homage to the classic Star Fox games. I especially loved the retro art-style of the game and think it's very unique. My only problem is that I wish there's an Auto/Continuous-Fire option that my ship can simply spam the lasers just like the hidden levels you go come across. For the hidden levels, the automatic firing was by default and that was a huge blessing for me since my hands get tired of pressing the same button repetitively for the main game.

Overall, I enjoyed the game and wished it was longer and completed! I can't wait for the full version when it does come out!

Early Access Review
Best game to play with friends hands down. This is the sort of game best played while streaming for noteworthy clip moments.

A hidden gem among many. This is a really good indie game and it's a must-play for people who love story-driven games with character development, and slice of life. The beginning will feel slow so that you get used to the setting of the game, but once the story picks up then it gets a lot better from there.

Seriously go play it.

I played this game with no expectations and I came to enjoy everything it offered.

The combat was the hook that drove me to kept playing. The battle system lets you learn and unlock different skills and artes to level up with, but you will probably stick with the same three or four attacks for your main character over the course of the game. Despite overusing the same attacks, you can still find yourself adjusting to the difficulty of certain boss fights or enemies, so the game is not just simply button-mashing your way to victory (most of the time). It was really fun regardless and I enjoyed the simplicity.

The story is essentially a Hero / Chosen One trope where he rises up with his followers to overthrow bad guys and has to save the world. I personally don't mind stories like these and quite frankly, Tales of Arise's story is forgettable. The only reason why I was eager to follow the story were the characters. I liked the chemistry when the party members interact with each other. I also wanted to see how Shionne's story progressed over the course of the game and I thought her arc had a decent ending. I didn't really care too much about the rest of the characters because I thought they were "okay" and I couldn't really relate to them. There was Dohalim's story and background which I found the most interesting one out of the cast, but nothing more.

It really was the characters interactions with each other and their progression through the story, on top of an addicting combat system, that kept me playing. If you like "Hero / Chosen One" story tropes, character interactions with each other over the course of the game, modern JRPGs, or addicting combat, then give Tales of Arise a try.

I sincerely enjoyed this game and it's pretty good!

I have played this game and spent a good 100+ hours before it has its own page on the Steam store, so I come here to say that this truly is a great game. No matter how many times you try to see what kind of game this is by watching YouTube videos, they will never capture the immersive journey of venturing out into this world and its story to tell. This experience is something you MUST play and see for yourself if you own the Skyrim game, if not, get Skyrim just to play this!

The only cons I have for this game, before it was on Steam, were the crashes and bugs. I remembered two game-breaking bugs I had while playing. One was at a mansion and the other one was at a desert town area while progressing the main story, which I had to look on YouTube and on the internet to fix the issues. My only advice for this is make sure you save frequently.

Other than those problems, don't let those issues affect you to play this game, because this is an amazing and underrated gem hidden among every RPG and it's worth your time!

The entire game is awesome, but I just can't recommend the PC version in its current state.
- You need to install Uplay and create a Uplay account.
- The hassle of creating a uplay account requiring a smartphone for a 2-way authorization pass would leave non-smartphone users with mixed feelings.
- Launching the game from Steam gives you a black screen, unless you play from the Uplay client.

Just get the console version.

Why would you seriously shut down mods which were basically the only reason why people play this game on PC? Yeah no.
