years of trying to get into dwarf fortress. all sorts of mods to make it easier to play. every youtube tutorial i could scrounge up. wiki crawls and kruggsmash stories taking up hours late into the night. finally, its all clicking. now i understand why so many people have put thousands of hours into this game, and i hope i join their ranks soon. everything is clicking as im clicking on everything. just as soon as i figure out how to manage one thing, three new things i need to work out are made apparent to me. im peeling this onion until all thats left is the smiling dwarf buried underneath. and that dwarf is me.
