Runs ultra on a 2080 Ti and aged really well. Ultrawide support is really implemented nicely except for cutscenes which have bars on the sides, but no big deal. Content-wise, everything with gameplay is just how you remember it. And if you don't, this is the perfect time to experience one of the better stories a video game has to offer. 10/10.

It has problems with balancing, especially with the end game. To mitigate this they made an easy-mode by simply using Spirit Ashes or summoning players. The starting area, Limgrave, is a bit too open-area which left me unsure where to go several times. Each subsequent area is a little more "funneled" to where you have the illusion of an open area, but it's linear in where you can go due to terrain limitations, think cliffs funneling players in a direction, which I like. I do not like Limgrave's too-much-open-area format, but later places give direction. Overall it's still a decent game that anyone should experience

Other thing: No ultrawide screen support so we have to mod that in, that's a negative.

There are many different bugs and the application has other dependencies (.NET, aspnet core, vigebus, hidhide) some of which can be dangerous to uninstall or fiddle with. The paywall lock is cringe, but whatever. What's more is the lack of support, the funneling of support from the Steam forums to a Discord server which makes finding solutions more difficult as they are split, and overall lack of care. Avoid buying the product for now and save yourself some money.

Lots of performance issues on release, but it is a very fun game if your computer runs through it just fine. Most of my complaints are minor:
-Why force the player to use only two stances that are changed at meditation points, and not cycle through them?
-Can't change Cal's hair color for some reason.
-Can't change the Mantis anymore from my understanding.
-Limited sky changes. I understand having a day/night cycle would compromise visual fidelity, but at least a system in place that gives the players dusk, midday, and dawn that changes on resting at meditation points would be great.

That's it from a gameplay perspective. It's a fun Metroidvania Souls-like Star Wars game, but it definitely needs some optimization.

The game got a bad rep on release for being buggy, incomplete, and a "live service" game. All of those problems are pretty much fixed now. This has a lot of content, it's a very long game, with a lot of things to do and/or collect. The story is mediocre and you should not expect to play a stealth game like traditional Assassin's Creed games. Also the stealth is still kind of stuck in the old Assassin's Creed days with little development to the system. Luckily, the game is designed in such a way where one could enter any area in the game and choose how to approach it, stealth or not, so it's not an issue.

My only complaint about the game is autostarting songs whenever I sail on the ship. I'm 310 hours into the game and only have completed maybe 60-70% of the main game, 50% if you include all the DLC I think, so that can give you an idea of how meager my only complaint is.

The overarching word I can come up with the remaster is "inconsistency." Inconsistency between games, despite GSG trying to bridge that gap with this release, is still present in the triology. Inconsistency in each game itself in terms of graphics, direction, sound, and controls/mechanics is noticeable. It might have some inkling of direction but it fails to achieve a solid one. The character models are inconsistent as well. Some are wonderful, others are cartoonish and misplaced in the world. Lighting is improved, but is also inconsistent. There's wonderfully lit places in the world, and yet sometimes cutscenes are too dark to see character expressions. I think a lot of reviews cast this off completely, and some misremember how buggy or other problems of the original, but the overall consistent review point I have come across is that it certainly is not worth the asking price. It is barely worth $30 USD, that's dubious at best. The value of the DE for me is probably around 15 USD.

A classic redone nicely for modern machines. What more could one want?

A few graphical related bugs that CDPR and NVIDIA can work out, but most of the bugs I encounter are CDPR-related only. 9 hours played and I came across 3-4 bugs that did not allow me to progress through the game, so I had to reload an earlier save.

In my opinion, they should have not made the developers crunch and just taken a few extra months to make it a solid product.

As for other content, it's great. I will review this review when patches come out.

What you see is what you get, which is great.
