The building shivered
Long has someone entered its halls
Oh it longed to tell its tale
Of when the bombs first fell

Cracked were the stone floors
Vines grew up on the walls
The paintings rotten, colours bled
Statues lay, like the world around
History wiped, manuscripts burned

And so a person peers through the fall
Of captains who had set sail
To the realms beyond yore
They grumbled and stare
At the people who dared,

The museum shivered
Quick the person left it’s halls
Oh for they discovered
There was nothing of use to be found

A soft step foward
Sunlight creeps through the leaves
Another step, a twig snaps
Sweet smells drift

The outlander set their eyes above
Red and yellow leaves
Beyond, the sea of air
Another step, another lost

To the side they set
Coterie of wood immemorial
Below are flowers
They all sway to the wind

Behind they set
The start of a path
Under their small feet
The leaves rustle

They set their eyes foward
Home but not home around
The traveller sighs
And so drifts on

With a touch of the sun
As the leaves fall

Rain falls from the sky, a quiet storm
Lands on a traveler, a nomad
The land not being dry, it’s not the norm
Mud unraveled, nothing mad
Otherworldly tears wash away the figure

Memories flow away, as drips drop
They burn against the rain, never cured
Unrelating pain, no mere prop
Held no sway over the mind

This is a tale of a nomad, of one that used to be of fire
But everything turned to ash, used to be dire
These memories had no sway
Claimed to be no longer sad, a simple way
The eyes betray the smile, the pace in their step
Cracks, like all who try to be stone

The grass was blue, what the sky should be
Darkness and grey, a mist never-ending
Across the red wood hills, their leaves ever falling
Winding streams cutting, weaving through the wooden hairs
This used to be a new world for the nomad

A splash, the mud spreads to fit the new step
Filth accommodating to the lost, sticking to it
The feet rise, and the mud does as well
As the small chasms created are filled by rain
Past holding no sway as the wet land goes back to form

A faint weep is heard, and the rain slows down
Panting, rising in intensity, it’s not fine
One final cry
Old world, gone, stopped like the rain by now
New one forevermore, as the yellow sun rises
Welcome home, always has been, evermore

Through the void I'll sail, with metal, power, and song
Waves there'll be of tunes ahead, of right and wrong
Before the stars fade away, and night will be all-strong
I'll sail across the suns and stars, and what will be beyond

Now space not just mine to sail, other ships there'd be to hail
From Core to Outer to Wild may be, we will cross the veil
They will be red, blue, green, and other species yet unseen
I'll sail across the oceans and seas, together strong in bond

Through the void we sail, with metal, power, and song
Waves there'll be of tunes ahead, of right and wrong
Before the stars fade away, and night will be all-strong
We'll explore what the Unknown has, before it is gone
And it'll make for one beautiful final song
