2015's best procedural critique of late capitalism, entirely by accident

when I played APB before it became "Reloaded": the shooting controls felt sloppy yet unforgiving; gunfights took place in poorly-designed spaces that were extremely difficult to traverse; the world felt empty most times and nonsensical at others. caveat emptor.

battles in PlanetSide 2 are meaningless (as the land will be taken back while you're asleep anyway) and the shooter controls feel sloppy. at launch, even though the game is notionally free-to-play, any meaningful advancement required a slog through hours and hours of being killed by people who anted up cash to circumvent the item progression.

not a fan.

didn't like Jazzpunk much at all. the jokes felt like they were trying too hard, and the context of an open world-ish adventure game makes it difficult for the timing to work very well.
