[Worms World Party Review]

Artillery games used to be very popular on PCs before the age of internet, as turn based multiplayer games you could play on a single PC without needing additional controllers. "Worms" were a series of artillery games that swapped the serious settings for some cute looking worms that used real life weaponry such as shotguns and rocket launchers. What set worms apart was that each player has multiple worms at their disposal, the environment is destructible, and some of the weaponry used are absurd and can lead to hilarious situations. This made worms a specially popular game to play with your friends as a party game on PC, a game that was equal parts hilarious but requires skill to play well.

The series had more of less stuck to its roots and Worms World Party was the culmination of all that the team had learned over the years, it basically added more of everything, along with a new feature called "Wormpot", a set of game rules that can change the style of game, such as low gravity, double damage, and the like.

This game also has a large number of single player "Missions". These unlike the regular modes usually have a specific objective and require skillful and/or creative use of the game's weapons to achieve said objectives. The difficulty of the missions unfortunately are all over the place, with some being incredibly easy and some being nearly impossible, specially one that removes your worm's ability to walk which forces you to use the rope as the only means of moving around.

[Worms World Party Remastered Review]

WWP Remastered is an updated version of the game that was made for at the time modern PCs. Unfortunately the game was not made with forward compatibility in mind, meaning resolutions higher than 1080p are not supported at all and will make the game incapable of rendering anything. If your desktop resolution is higher, the only fix is to make some windows registry edits to force the game into 1080p mode. Visit the PCGamingWiki website for more info if this is the case for you.

SP Review: The campaign has a team management system, allowing you to scout and hire players for your teams. This adds a bit of strategic feel and consistency between matches which would otherwise just be random bot matches. Unfortunately, some of the UT2K4's newly introduced modes, including the massively popular "Onslaught", are not included in the campaign. However with the addition of Instant action and online matches UT2K4 is the most complete arena shooter available.

A Surprisingly well done cinematic adventure game with an emotional and intriguing narrative. The comic book style art is very stylish and creative. The gameplay consists of decision making, adventure style exploration, and some light puzzles and quick time events. The decisions are difficult and make you question your priorities, but unfortunately have little consequence on the direction of the plot. Overall, one the best narrative driven game I've ever played.

One of the best games ever made. Very atmospheric. Excellent Shooting mechanics. Fantastic A.I. that tracks your location in combat, and has goal oriented behavior in general. Survival done right with scarce food, breakable weapons, ammo, and hazards such as radiation, anomalies, mutants and enemy soldiers. One of the best health systems out there with bleeding separate from hitpoints. Great selection of weapons, almost all of them upgradable with silencers, scopes, and grenade launchers.

[Quake III Arena Review]

Released during the early boom of online gaming, id chose to forgo a single player campaign for Quake III and focus the next Quake solely on online play. Nevertheless, a single player mode was included, where you play against bots. Along with UT, Q3 is an icon of Online Arena Shooters, and as such the weapons, movement, and maps are incredibly well balanced with an easy to pick up, hard to master learning curve. Quake Live was a browser based F2P iteration of Q3, but later it became a full game.

Played this tirelessly when it was new. The amount of content was just astonishing for a 2001 game. Simulates warfare with infantry (including special units such as rocket launchers, snipers, and special ops), cars, trucks, APCs, tanks, choppers, and even planes. The campaign is quite long (around 20 hours) but it also offers many single missions for additional content. To top it all off it has an extremely easy to use yet very versatile mission editor, which can add countless hours of gameplay.

[Final Fantasy X Review]

One of the first games to showcase PS2's stunning graphic capabilities. This highlighted the amazing care and artwork that breathed life into the unique post apocalyptic fantasy world. The story revolves around a group journeying the world with the ultimate goal of bringing about a period of calm in a world ravaged by turmoil. Battles are fought in a traditional turn based system but the ability to switch party members on the fly allow for a lot more variety. Con: Side quests can be a bit obtuse

Good game with very advanced graphics for its time. The horror elements were done very well considering the 1st person camera. It has one of the most advanced combat AIs I've seen in a game. The enemies are smart enough to flank you, work together to pin you down, and throw in the grenades once your location is known. Unfortunately besides the combat and horror set pieces the game doesn't have much else going for it, which can make the game monotonous after a while.

Fantastic Game. Nice atmosphere, responsive controls, cool armors. Great game and level design overall. Minimal storytelling works great. Starts very difficult and might put some people off due to no in game tutorials, for example the stats are never explained. There are some areas where I felt were impossible to go through without referring to wiki or game guides.

Starting as a mod for Half-Life, CS had some key differences that made it stand out in competitive FPS games at the time. 1- The modern settings when most FPS games were Science Fantasy 2- CS is strictly team based, making communication and teamwork crucial. 3- No respawns during a round accentuated and intensified each encounter. 4- Asymmetric objectives for the two teams prevented monotony. 5- Purchasable equipment added a layer of strategy to the game beyond shooting players to score points.
