So I tried getting a refund for this 3 times already, now I'll just give a negative review.

This is an abysmal downgrade compared to what the remake did for the second. What does that mean?

Ok, granted, that the graphics are nice, it's something great that Capcom did to the series from the seventh entry to here. Graphics in the environment, when I played it I thought it was weird that the textures were not loading but in fact; other game review articles had the same problem. Visiting the STARS headquarters again in RPD with pixelated textures and weird tiled graphics (like the river water); it was disheartening to see the rushed quality on this game.

The acting was varied from 7, RE2 and RE3. 7 was okay, RE2 was good, RE3 was somewhere between 7 and 2.

Gameplay? I personally think it is great that they used the game and gunplay from RE2. I thought that was the best part. However the sounds from the pistols share the questionable authenticity as it more sounds like ball peen hammers hitting metal sheets covered in a cloth. Carlos's rifle loses a lot of accuracy after firing short bursts. One would think that he would have had some training in firing short bursts or something. It was a weird change of pace to have the space bar be the new dodge mechanic when I was used to it pulling out the secondary weapon like the knife.

Nemesis? Oh boy. Let me put it this way, Mr. X was scary and remained scary after I played RE2 for the seventh time. Nemesis is nothing like Mr. X, he is more like Jason X; complete with a lack of scariness. The RE2 RPD demo's teaser with him screaming "STARS!" was pretty scary. I feel as if the people who greenlit the idea to make Nemesis a demon dog thing after the first boss fight was focusing on what is "cool" rather than what is scary. I'm fine with the hermetically sealed trash bag look and the elongated teeth, but it's a bad sign when there is a mod of the original Nemesis model for download (last time I checked).

After all that, the biggest cherry on top for me is the lack of real thought provoking puzzles. The need of more action over puzzles has been a real drag when there's no fun for people who love puzzles like me. While RE2 did not have the most complex of puzzles, it was still rewarding when I solved them. I used mnemonic devices to remember the combination locks. I might make a small guide on RE2 to share them. RE3 just has lock picks (I know Jill is the master of unlocking blah blah blah) but it would have been nice to have Carlos figure out new combination locks that I don't already remember (hint, it's the same mnemonic devices I used in RE2.) Perhaps, they could have ACTUALLY put in whatever puzzles that Carlos had to solve from the original.

The biggest deal breaker was the inclusion of loot boxes in their shoddily made multiplayer. Now I admit that I never played it and I only saw the gameplay videos (It looked boring). But having some gambling problems myself, so I need to avoid any game that has loot boxes. One could argue that I could never have to play the multiplayer and just focus on the campaign. They would be right. However, I just do not trust myself enough to have the will power to never play the multiplayer part. Even if there's no microtransactions, I just can not scratch that itch and I should just stay away from this game entirely.

TL;DR
Good on you for having fun
It's exciting to shoot a gun
But the lack of puzzles
and the graphics quality muzzled.
Sorry but I got to run.
