The gunplay is great, which really carries the game, even moreso than the art style. I would imagine that the art style would turn some people off, but I really enjoyed it. It almost gives it a static feel when you're running, kind of like you're watching a B movie on an old fuzzy tube TV. The music ranges from OK to pretty good, but a lot of it doesn't seem to fit the tone very well. Lots of little bits of jank here and there, like "dropping" in to the office at the end of the level, weird/bad enemy AI and pathing, enemies getting stuck in walls, an iffy ammo pickup animation, etc. Really liked the look and characterization of the bosses.

Get it on sale, and you'll likely enjoy yourself for an afternoon or two.

I wasn't sure where they could go after the excellent and over-the-top DOOM (2016). This game proved there's still room for the series to move and grow, and gave us another great title.

Gunplay is difficult but incredibly satisfying. Enemy variety is wide. Locations that you visit are all visually interesting. Soundtrack is just as incredible as 2016, if not even better. Finding all the secrets is fun, and the rewards for doing so are great. The hub ship alone is so much fun to explore, I've spent a few hours on it.

Can't wait to play the DLC, and can't wait to see where this series goes next.

Rip and tear!

Fascinating art style, great music and sound effects. Simple but satisfying turn-based RPG gameplay.

It's cheap and it only takes a few hours to beat, so it's a small investment that's totally worth it.

Guns are satisfying, good variety of enemies, and some really, really awesome level design. If this had come out in 1998 it would have rocked the world.

I grew up playing Harvest Moon, and this game is essentially all the best parts of any Harvest Moon game, tightened up and made perfect. It's easy to lose a lot of time to this game without even realizing it. Very relaxing.

Short but incredibly enjoyable experience. Stuck to my mind for several days after playing, and still pops up every now and then. The length gives it replayability, as I can run through it without much of a time sink. Spooky, but lacking jump scares. Just genuinely creepy. Great for fans of Lynch and the first Silent HIll.

Probably the best multiplayer shooter of all time. Awesome weapons, fast paced, a huge variety of playmodes and maps, all customizable. There's no sweeter feeling than getting a m-m-m-m-MONSTER KILL with your flak cannon skills, or picking off airborne enemies with the shock rifle with insta-gib turned on. Community was still active last I checked but you can also play against bots.

I really, really enjoyed the first act. Legitimately creepy, very well done. The other three were fine as well, but by the end I unfortunately felt like I had completed the best part of the game in the first fifteen minutes. Still very much recommended, good way to spend part of an afternoon if you get it on sale.

This is a game that you're better off getting into with knowing as little as possible. The "About This Game" section on the store page almost gives too much away. Just know that it's a third-person shooter where you play a soldier in a modern but fictional situation, and if it looks generic on the surface that it's kind of supposed to. Just give it a shot, you won't regret it.
