Conflicted about it, more of a meh than a negative review. The art style, ambient, and music are great, the puzzles are mid, and the story is definitely too short. I also don't like the ending, which adds to the overall negatives.

Great game if you buy it cheap, but at the current price it's a pass.

Fantastic game!

I like some of the ideas behind this game, but I can't bear myself to play it. The UI is unfathomably slow, even at 4x speed the UI feels sluggish, everything has an animation that takes forever, and after the first few round it became old, very very fast. Actions that should be snappy, aren't. It feels slower than actually playing chess online, and this is a videogame running at 6000+ FPS, it shouldn't feel so slow it seems grinding to a halt. No matter how much I tried to enjoy it I ended up asking for a refund, it's giving me physical distraught and I don't plan on opening it again, ever, unless something changes drastically in the UX department.

Vibes similar to “Va-11 Ha11-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action”. If you can gloss over the aspect of a couple characters and the fact you're introducing some of them to drugs, It's a pretty solid game. Also, there's some pretty sensitive topics in the dialogues, mild discretion is advised.

On top of being a great game, fun, with nice visuals and audio, it also provided me with the equivalent of 3 months of psychotherapy, at least.

Mild. Game's decent, but as a sequel that deviated too far from the original I can't really recommend buying it at full price.

I liked the horror parts, but the dating part of it is gone. And it seems like the game's being watered down too, as I feel like I've spent at least half the game opening doors. Sucker for Doors: Slides to Slash For. Nice mechanic, used well, but it's just too much, I wish there was a way to just skip the entire animation manually and jump straight in a new room, without having to slide them manually.

The game also lost a bunch of weirdness, and leaned more in the straight narrative design, with a bland main character.

I'm still gonna support the developer, and I'll buy their next iteration if and when it comes out, but this game felt less fun, more busywork, and with a higher store price. YMMV.

This game is simply amazing, and has been updated with love over the years.

Definitely recommend this game. Not very long, I've done a lot of redundant stuff and completed it in less than 11 hours. Some bits, like the repair minigame, can be a bit repetitive. On the other hand the story is nice, the music is great, the exploration feels good, and the game is fun. And that's all that counts, really.

Despite its simplicity this game is pretty fun. For its very low price, it can easily give you 30 to 60 hours of non-repetitive fun, provided you like the game loop. I'm partial to it because as an italian I can understand a lot of the jokes that are spread throughout the content, and there's tons of 'em.

Already gifted this to a lot of friends, tons of fun, high recommend.

Update: after years, this game keeps pushing polished quality content with cheaply priced DLCs, and the quality keeps improving. A true labour of love!
