This is my first exposure to anything Warhammer related, and stupidly I dodged the first Space Marine game because I was late to the party and felt it went under the radar for most people, but Space Marine 2 was talked about as an incredible, albeit short, experience. And it did not let that fact down.

I just completed the campaign story at just 9 hours, with occasional stopping to appreciate the spectacle it provides during gameplay. If you are hungry for a powerful story of brotherhood and intense gothic mixed with spacepunk themes then this is a must play.

The melee weapons are fantastic, each with their own truly menacing feeling of power and impact. The ranged weapons, while aplenty, I found myself in love with the heavy bolt variety just for the brutality they brought.

The dark vibe of the 40k lore, at least dipping my toes into the space marines of who they are and why, is truly fantastic and nothing short of amazing in scope of detail and delivery. I willingly want to learn more about this universe and have already started watching lore videos explaining more about it. This feels like a rabbit hole that will eat my life away, and I am here for it to consume me.

My pledge is eternal service.

Long time WoW player that tried something new.

New World is a tasty snack while waiting for major patches in other games.
Love the weapon switch mechanics, makes it feel like there's variety.
Graphics are great, nice medieval vibe, dark and almost gothic in some instances.

The lag is horrible when entering packed areas, when I say packed... I am playing on Oceanic, with a total Steam charts player base of 30k. If they fix the issue plaguing the city lag it will help the game immensely.

The lack of swim mechanics is a major downer. Not just lack of mechanics, but if you fall into water, it's game over. There's no way to get out in most cases. It's really stupid to add water in this game if someone can drown with no way of escaping and a lot of the time water is along the path you take to quests, many times it being deep enough for you to not be able to come out of.

Other than that, it's fun. Crafting is enjoyable and combat is simple yet does a fair job. (would be nice to see more variety in weapon talent trees)
It will be great to see what this develops into over the years.

For anyone new, it takes about 1 hour per level. I reached 60 over about 2 weeks with just under 60 hours played. It would have taken shorter if I minus the gathering/professions and the lag (at times, 5 minutes) in cities. And no my PC isn't a brick, the bricks completely crash.

Bought the main game on sale. At that price for content it was definitely justified. I used the $40 savings difference to buy the expansion that just came out. Still worth it in terms of value to content.

Waited for the Steam release and also for it to go on sale. Bought the Chaotic Great Edition.

Game is fantastic, great references and comedic appeal..as you would expect. You'll notice familiar voiceovers too which was fun.
Game play itself is enjoyable and the addition of spells is makes it a unique experience.
Example of one fun spell: Wait till you see the giant marshmallow.

Character level progression feels good and has an amicable amount of playtime solo and with friends.
Story is funny and cute, especially as you progress towards the end. I really appreciate what Gearbox did here.
Played the game through on Insane (I think it was called Insane, whatever the hardest difficulty was) and it was fairly easy.

End game has a pretty generic increasing difficulty dungeon style ++ system as opposed to a New Game+.
This could get stale after quite a bit of playing, but so far it's holding well at 111 hours. This is likely due to the different dungeon modes available which keep it fairly fresh.

Secret/hidden end game content: There are secret raid style bosses you can apply to your run at the end, and they are freaking beautiful and terrifying by design. This actually really topped the cake for me, its a insane experience every time I decide to fight them.

It's advised to explore the entire map to 100% as you get bonuses for doing so, the loot luck buff is the main benefit here though.

It's worth the full price, so being currently on sale it's definitely worth the price.

I will be clear from the beginning, I would not recommend this at full price and I know the fanatics, including the person who recommended the game to me would dead eye me for saying that. Also, I banged out the 30hours pretty quickly after buying it, so I may have missed a lot or I could be entirely wrong on something I said. DYOR. Comments are open for any corrections.
And I also note that the game 'must' play much better on PS4 than it does on PC because after speaking to said fanatics, they don't seem to have the same issues as me (to a degree).

I kept hearing great things from people around me about this game, how amazing it is etc.
While I don't disagree that the game is full of content and things to do, its horribly slow and I don't mean "lose yourself in the game" slow, let me give examples to explain;
- You can't run in your camp... You have to walk around once you reach the camp. Every. Single. Time.
- The game can dictate your speed at times. You could be in full sprint and suddenly the game will shut you down and make you crawl for no real reason.
- Animations can't be skipped. Each profession action has its animation and you can't skip them. If you really enjoy farming (which I do) your farming is limited just purely on the fact that you could waste an hour on animations throughout your farm.
- Bugs... Oh boy. The people who played on PS4 seem to have never experienced bugs, but PC on the other hand... I try to climb on trains and I will fall through the world. When I finally land, it's in the middle of nowhere and it's a long walk back.
* Occasionally talking to an NPC will enter the scenario screen and...that's it. The game stops at that screen, the UI disappears and you get locked into place. The only solution is to hard close the game and start over.
- You craft one by one. Oh you have 100 bullets to upgrade? Let me do each one bullet at a time.
- The PC controls aren't responsive at times. You either will have no response from keyboard keys or you can get stuck in loops and just have to smash the keyboard in hopes that eventually it stops.

I get the, take in the scenes and beauty. I appreciate that and the game sets its tone beautifully.
But there's no reason to make me wait for the same profession animation every time. Or 1 by 1 crafting.
Obviously this is a personal experience review. You may have a different experience. If the game is on sale its a banger and you will get plenty of content from it. The story is fun and engaging, yet at times it feels too rushed and as if your character is the only person who actually does anything for your camp. It's an easy mistake to try take a break from main quests and accidently accept one after another and that can feel a bit tedious.

I put RDR2 in the league of Witcher 3 and God of War. And so far I would rather play those over RDR2.

TLDR;
Lacking quality of life.
PC has bugs that PS4 apparently does not.
It is worth buying, but personally the game is too slow (movement, quality of life) for me personally to pay full price.

I have always supported this game and try my best to be positive about it in every aspect. But there comes a point where you wait long enough to decide that something is just wrong. There are massive 3-11gb patches all the time that do absolutely nothing for the severe problems that litter Pubg.

What can you expect from playing this game?
- Rubber banding
- Getting shot in position you were in 4 seconds ago
- Trying to pick up items off the ground multiple times because they don't go into your inventory
- Queue times upwards of 50minutes
- Emptying a clip point blank into someones back only for them to turn around and 2 bullet kill you
- BUYING their event pass only to realise that most items have a 30day duration on them before they disappear
- Nothing on the lobby screen working
- Buying a crete and failing the purchase
- Opening the event pass where no missions load / trying to claim a mission only for it to not claim
- Opening the Store tab for nothing to load
- Changing clothing for it to not equip
- Changing weapon skins for it to not equip
- Buying a crete only to realise now you need to buy a key with real money to open it

I am missing plenty but I need the remaining salt for my steak tonight, so lets call it rant over.

Still better than Fortnite though.

I actually like the game, I think it could run a little smoother but overall pretty great.
The campaign is awesome and has great gameplay and humorous moments which just took me back to Borderlands, I think its very creative and well done. Seems like it had a hard time against Overwatch and even though I play Overwatch more, I actually prefer Battleborn... Just needs more people playing it so the queue times arent as long as they are now!

I would of bought this game purely for the campaign anyway. But then again I am not a whinging little ♥♥♥♥♥ like some people. Try it, it's cheap. Dont be a tightass.

This was one of my very much loved games back on playstation. Out of all the ported games I have played this has hit home. The 60fps update is amazing. Grandia rocks my anus!
