I've had this game sitting on my wishlist for ages. Once the free weekend came out, I could finally try it out and I have to say. This game is really worth it if you're into rts games. Sure, it's not extremely traditional with your character being the cursor however because of that, it gives the game a unique spin on the RTS genere.

The story is incredible and very well thought out, it's detailed, clean and very exciting. With each faction having their own storyline meaning you get to experience each side.

The soundtrack is one of the best indie game soundtracks I've heard this year full stop. Composed by Austin Winfrey - the composer for Journey and other titles - has created something amazing to listen to, the themes created by the songs fit in perfectly with the dilemma of the story and world. Each faction generally being a different theme.

I think the community is also one of the biggest reasons I've stuck around, it's small and extremely friendly. If you want help, they'll give it to you. There's a discord server that's been created for the community which makes it quite easy to talk to one another and ask for advice.

The mechanics of the game can be quite exciting despite being so simple. The task of having to go out and scout your opponent to see what they're building or doing and then having to counter that and come up with a stratergy can be very fun at times. The maps are entirely randomized so you'll never have the same map, but this also means your opponent might have a stronger side so then you'll have to figure out another way to beat them.

The games are quite short, around 5-7 minutes from my experience. Since they're so short its often very hard to even get tilted at the game. But it also means that if you only have about an hour or so to play, you get a lot of games in very quickly. This makes playing ranked less frustrating in my opinion.

I think Tooth and Tail is very under-appreciated and I'm very surprised as to why it's not even more popular than it is currently. So if you're considering to purchase this game, purchase it. It's really worth it and I haven't had this much fun in ages, I can't put the game down.
