Very beautiful, chill, and fun game - even solo. Exploration and building is awesome.

Yes, it is janky and could use some more polishing. Graphics are dated but decent enough, lighting is quite beautiful.

But none of the minor flaws really matter, once you become engrossed in the game world. Exploring is fun and most quests have a quality that most modern mainstream AAA games are lacking.


Not as good as Risen 1 or Gothic 2+1, but still very much worth playing!

Interesting throwback to the RPGs of old. Plus its freeeeeee :)

An ever growing list of Dungeons to grind trough, kill things, collect things, salvage and craft equipment, just to become stronger to grind trough more dungeons in the most cheesy and janky way. All the while having a lot of fun.

Yes the game is still rough, yes the UI (inventory management and dialogues) needs some improvement, but the game simply is fun. If you know what you get into, and mindlessly grinding trough a few mobs and killing a few bosses is all you want, this is perfect.

Plus development is active and updates have improved the game a lot already.

Once you get used to the controls, the game is a fun throwback to the olden days, when action RPGs were rougher but somehow also better. Worth the buy, especially on sale!

A deep and challenging turn-based RPG that would be awesome, if it weren't for the horrible save system.

I understand, some people prefer ironman / permadeath modes, which can and should be an option to play this game.
For all the other players that do not want to have to slowly crawl trough 5 boring overworld maps, just to get back to the dungeon after dying to one stupid mistake, please add a proper save mode. having to waste all inventory space for a bed roll is no valid option.

This is the one grave con turning an otherwise great game into a frustrating experience. So for now, I cannot recommend the game, even if it has many great aspects.

Devs, if you read this: Please reconsider adding a save-mechanic that lets players freely save. It's a single player game. There are people out there, who do not want to "lose" half of their limited playtime, just to walk across the same boring overworld maps.

Try finger.

Most of the missions are very linear and force you to do things exactly as the designers want you to, or fail.
The controls are strange at first, it takes a while before you stop accidentally shooting random strangers in the face, instead of wishing them a good afternoon.

But once you get used to the controls, and look past (or ignore) the linearity of the missions, you get an awesome and very detailed open world to explore and be the cowboy you want to be.

Still one of the best relaxing hard games out there with great setting and awesome music.
Once you learn the mechanics and how to identify and develop good bros, it is a lot of fun with tons of replay value.

The DLCs expand the good but sometimes bland base game in different aspects. Each is well worth the asking price, all combined they turn the game into something amazing.
