This simple gameplay of rails-shooter is great, though the price is high. Reminds me of a physical arcade experience. The each gameloop is super short, but the randomizing keeps each game fresh. There is an upgrade system that gives a sense of progression. I only wish there was a co-op mode. Played on an Ubuntu desktop with a mouse.

I enjoyed learning the game mechanics. Not sure how to classify it, but there is a game demo to try before you buy.
Played on an Ubuntu desktop with keyboard and mouse controllers.

Enjoyed this co-op experience. It is the standard platforming gameplay, but the authentic, tribal cutscenes makes it memorable. The game's difficulty was forgiving, even pushing us past challenges that we failed multiple times. Overall, we both liked it. My only complaint is the "bola weapon" was fairly difficult to use on a gamepad controller, from what appears to be a technical issue.

Big thumbs up for Alba! High quality game experience: an interesting map design, excellent soundscape, and a fun game mechanic of cataloging wildlife. It is so seriously compelling, that it makes me want to go save a wildlife preserve, in real life.

The game is a bit short, for the money, with three and a half hours of leisurely completing the story. But like a good movie, the narrative feels edited to have maximum effect. It always felt like I was doing something and moving the plot forward.

Another mention for the map design: The game world feels realistic. So many nature-based games (Firewatch to name one) have landscapes that feel phony to handle invisible walls and narrative structure. I wonder whether those developers spent much time understanding natural settings before they set out recreating them.

If you want a light-hearted game of nature exploration, then I recommend this one. Played on a Steam Deck and it worked perfectly.

A game world with a designed-by-committee feel. It looks nice, but it lacks the spark of fun. Kept waiting for the moment when some exciting gameplay would emerge, but even after 22 hours it never appeared. The game has a complex NPC alliance system, but is it worth doing any of it, except for quest requirements? The game has dozens of armor pieces but none of it matters. It has dozens of food items, but there are no recipes to combine them, so why not just make only one? It just feels like an exercise of ticking the marketing-checkboxes for required gameplay elements. So many parts of the game just felt layered on top, providing no additional enjoyment.

Purchased this game to help me get through the pandemic. Worked out great. It is the perfect experience, for when you just want to dig a hole to the center of a planet in a space suit.

Played to the end because I enjoy narrative-adventure games, but the puzzles all made me angry. The level design went way downhill after the first chapter. The story was ended up being just okay. Got this from a Humble Bundle, and I played it through Steam's Proton compatibility software. The game uses the Unreal game engine, and the graphical effects are at least a quite nice distraction.

This is just a short introduction to the series. Be aware that the Steam Store promotions show pictures from the entire series, not just the 90 minute, first two chapters. So, while the choice of using claymation animation graphics was kind of interesting, there was not much more here. The puzzles felt forced, and I had a buggy experience with one of them not accepting a correct answer. Unlike other reviewers, I was not all that wowed by the "Inception" film storyline, either. The game felt like a throwback to an antiquated gameplay, especial with the choice of using Adobe Flash. Every accidental right-mouse click caused the Flash Player menu to appear. Anyway, in short, I would not recommend this purchase.

A dark adventure game. Good story. It's short (2+hr) but I liked it. Well worth the six-dollar asking price. Nice pixel graphic animation, ambient music soundtrack, and light dexterity and puzzle challenges. It plays well on the Steam Deck. The "build-a-newspaper-story" game mechanic was super fun and original. I played this on an ubuntu desktop with a keyboard controller.
