I adore Halo. It is a franchise I grew up with and played for over a decade. These stories may not be as amazing or world breaking as I remember, but there is something fascinating about the world Bungie created, and 343 has taken under its wing. From the beautiful, but slightly dated, environments and the amazing soundtrack that still holds to this day. Not to mention the timeless FPS defining gameplay (I know Doom/Quake/Half Life/Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare did it first, but Halo revolutionized the console FPS) and you have six enjoyable campaigns and a surplus of amazing multiplayer experiences.

I am glad to see the games come to the PC platform, and the quality of life improvements that came with this port have been amazing. Halo with an adjustable FOV slider justified getting the game for a second time, three if we include the original releases. Unfortunately, this Collection has been struggling with some quality issues, each update seems to fix some things and undo some others. While unfortunate, the porting team has been incredibly transparent about the process and are relatively quick to fix bugs.

I obviously have bias, so an impartial review could never come out of me. I can not recommend the collection enough. To me, six games for $40 is an absolute steal. But to others, it isn't justified. Best part of the Collection is that you can choose which games to purchase. Hate Halo 4? Me too. No need to buy it. Think Reach caused the downward spiral the Halo franchise is currently facing as we speak, and hate the thought of buying it? Don't! You see what I mean about not being impartial, I'm speaking praises about a purchasing mechanic. I am awful at this reviewing thing.

I hope my incoherent ramblings encouraged you to try out the Master Chief Collection. If this is your first time playing Halo, welcome! To those returning after being offline on the 360 for half a decade, welcome back.
