21 Hours of lagging and skipping around every crevice of the map. Critical parts of the game disabled and/or functioning entirely improperly. Why do i keep purchasing games? Save your money and your time.

Nothing in the recent update feels like it changed AT ALL. The only noticeable change is they added 2 stash tabs. Woah.

You still die to invisible stuff on the ground, explosions from nothing, regardless of your defensive layers, there are so many videos of it out there, it completely ruins the game. Not sure how the hell anyone plays hardcore in this glitch infested mess.

Opened a map and died instantly to nothing, this game is cooked. Johnathan will kill GGG. Good luck, you are going to need it. May as well just give up and sell the rest to tencent so they can make money and the game can just die like it should have stayed :D

For fans of Vampire Survivors/Halls of Torment style games, definitely give this a whirl! Deep Rock Galactic has an incredibly fun vibe to it and this game continues that in spades. Many hilarious voice lines, jokes, and of course the miserable mission controller!

There are a few things i'd love to see added to this game in the future, one being a Co-op mode, classic. Another being a lobby/shuttle that you can hang around in and perhaps customise even, this was one of the big things i liked about DRG.

Currently there are only 3 biomes but i expect more will be added in time, definitely is room on the mission select screen for more mission locations. Hope to see more in the future!

1 major drawback of the game is that there is one class that is entirely unplayable due the nature of it's function. The class requires you to STAND STILL to deploy turrets. Good luck standing still for more than 0.1 second on that slow character. That needs to be changed entirely. Just make the turrets deploy regardless of movement. The class is entirely useless in it's current state. Thanks!

Fun game BUT new players will have one hell of a time trying to figure out what to do.

Some downfalls of the game include: Many crashes/stutters/optimisation issues that require you to edit files and things until you can play the game at a proper frame rate. Even then you still have issues where you click a button and the click goes through the button to the floor, moving your character, and possibly killing you.

Most hardcore players are cheaters unfortunately, but it isn't really their fault, you have to cheat in order to play hardcore mode otherwise you will never make it out of the acts due to the amount of bugs/crashes/things out of your control - that exist in the game.

With all that said, it's still an insanely fun game, really fun to make builds and try stuff out once you get a hang of it. The skill tree is intimidating but i highly suggest following a guide for your first league at least at the start of the league.

Standard game play mode is always there, but the real fun is in the league content. Developers are constantly coming up with creative ways to mess with the game for a season. Some leagues are much better than others, really depends on how you play.

I have been looking forward to this game since the released demo and i must say i am rather impressed by the sheer vastness of the map, even at its ~30% availability. There is a ton more to come to this game and you can tell as you progress through the game.

Combat - Fun! Although some balancing needs to happen to keep people from playing one class (melee seems pretty fair, bows are terrible, magic is VERY POWERFUL). Hit detection is on-point. There is only 1 mob that i have fought that had some hitbox issues, other than that, it is pretty crisp.

Environment - Tons to jump around in. Terrain can be manipulated quite easily to create stairs or ledges to stand on, allowing you to navigate some cliff sides and mountains with ease. Even earlier than you are supposed to allowing you to take on harder challenges at lower levels. (Also not as if you can 'accidentally wander' into the hard areas, you really have to dig/climb to get around some of the blocks they put in place to separate areas)

Building - Voxel style - Think minecraft building but you cannot see the actual 'block lines' in this game, they are there though! This makes building come together incredibly easily. All objects snap together and merge together well, even different material types (i.e. wood wall into stone wall doesn't look buggy/messy) You are also able to create basements and cave bases using the building tool, you can remove entire blocks of land for foundation and such, quite impressive.

With all that said, there are some bugs people have been encountering. 1 being a crash caused by Vulcan not being able to figure out what is supposed to be happening, resulting in a crash and a rollback for your character (yes, a rollback, anything you put in your inventory a few seconds or minutes leading to the crash will vanish from the game). There are also numerous bugs involving gliders deploying then disappearing, shroud not spawning in shroud areas, and achievements not working for some people on multiplayer servers for unknown reasons.

Still i would recommend giving this game a shot if you are really into the genre and have exhausted games like Valheim and V Rising. This will hook you similar to those, possibly for not as long due to the length of this game in it's current state, but that will change in the future! The map looks MASSIVE!

Since steam ate my review, this is not going to be as nicely worded as it was previous but here it goes.

This game has potential, i recognise that, but i cannot in good faith recommend it to anyone with the state of play it is in. (Early Access loosely translates to 'play at your own risk' these days)

Building - There are a number of 'blocks' in the game that you just cannot build on at all. Doesn't matter how much foundation or support you place on/around/near. Never allows you to place/snap a roof/wall to the next one. So if you are looking at this game for it's building, Keep looking for now. (Enshrouded just released has excellent building for a ~50 dev studio)

Pal AI - While it is somewhat impressive that the AI can figure out where to go in your base and complete x/y task, there are a number of issues with Pal AI especially when they are assigned to your base. First being that some pals have way too many jobs to the point they never get anything done because they are just travelling between their jobs, then turning around and going to a different one before interacting with the first one. Pals will also constantly get stuck in areas with elevation change or debris, they will also sometimes get stuck on top of random structures (flying pals getting stuck on top of things? huh?)

Story - Non-existent. This may not be something that discourages you from playing, and that is fine, especially for an open world survival game, story isn't really necessary, just mentioning that it isn't there for those that do care. Once you complete the tutorial missions, there is no direction at all, so be ready to make your own adventure!

Environment is made of paper - Incredibly easy to accidentally put yourself and/or your pals out of bounds. Some sections of rock you can just walk straight into in some areas. Other areas where if you place your palbox too close to a rock, all your pals spawn inside the rock. You can also be pushed into environment and fall under the ground from being attacks by a pal with a pushback attack.

Definitely a place in gaming for this game but not as it is now, lucky for us this is early access and there is a pretty comprehensive roadmap for the future of the game. I look forward to checking back into this game down the line.

Enjoy!

As a long time Fate Grand Order player, it is fun to play these servants in a different light. The game play is simple and easy to understand, these games are very much so made for fans of the Intellectual Property. If this is your first encounter with the Fate franchise, you will be drinking through a fire hose. I suggest dipping into some of the anime or manga that has been produced over the years. This game also emulates a lot of Visual Novel aspects, there are long dialogue sections with some choices in the dialogue changing the outcome of the events as they unfold.

It is not 100% necessary to have played the previous Extella game. If you are truly interested, that game does go on sale when a lot of the other Fate games go on sale (unfortunately, not often). There are some story explanations available on the type-moon wiki among other resources should you be interested further.

Good game for those that enjoy the rogue/survival games and achievement hunting. For fans of Vampire Survivors that are looking to try similar games in the genre. That being said, there are a few strange things about this game. One being the strange descriptions given to some of the characters. For example, the "Norseman" character is supposed to be the "Master of physical combat" according to his bio, yet he is the weakest character in the game. There have also been some questionable balancing choices made by the developers in the past, which has made it incredibly difficult to find accurate information about the game. Luckily there are a few great up-to-date steam guides as well as the wiki to provide you with the information the game does not provide you with.

All in all, it is a fun game, casual or not. It may scratch that VS itch should you be hungry for content. I would also suggest turning on the auto aiming/attacking options to make the game play a bit better. I found it was easy to lose sight of my mouse cursor when manually aiming/attacking, leading to taking damage and sometimes silly deaths. Enabling those essentially turns the game into WASD/Arrow keys only.

Never have I ever enjoyed being fired so many times in a single day. Can't wait to see what comes of this game. Great foundation for a potential huge game for the genre. Quite fun in it's current state, there are some minor bugs and glitches but with a bit of labour and love, this game will shine.
