There's a lot to like about this game: the graphics are gorgeous, the world is huge, and the theme is cool.

Unfortunately this is marred by weird bugs that persist after the latest patches, lack of feeling connected to the world, and realistically the biggest problem for me: it isn't a good RPG and it isn't a good FPS.

Deus Ex does a much better job at both, which is really disappointing!

DCS is perhaps the best simulation I've played in VR. With a stick and throttle, looking around the cockpit feels second nature. The full cockpit DLC modules continue to improve your immersion, and the landscape of DLC like Syria or the Persian Gulf is beautiful.

However, finding a great DLC module can be hit and miss as there is little consistency between them. Modules like the F-16 feels unfinished, but there are others like the F-5 that are wonderful! There are also very few missions included in the game, so using the mission editor is vital if you want longevity out of the game. Finally multiplayer can also be a bit hit and miss, with some servers focusing on dog fighting, realistic missions against another side, and everything in between. Make sure you use the `beta` branch if you're looking to play MP as otherwise your options will be limited.

Ultimately, DCS is a wonderful game that will require some patience and desire to learn. If you're on the fence, I recommend picking up the F-5 on sale and trying your luck with the mission editor against some ground targets or older Russian jets.

Ark's vision is grand. Unfortunately the dismal UI, clunky crafting system, and zero tutorial / explanation mean the vision is poorly executed. As a result only 47.3% of players have ridden *any* dinosaur - one of the main activities you'd assume people partake in. The fact the developers haven't attempted to raise that number but have instead invested in numerous DLC's should tell you everything you need to know about their product focus.

Despite all this, the game is relatively fun, and there are a good amount of community contributed docs. It's worth $5 on sale, but is certainly not worth the $40 at other times.

If you're looking for a PvPvE sandbox game and dinosaurs are not your priority take a look at Rust instead.

The F-5E Tiger II is a lot of fun. It's a relatively simple aircraft to learn, and the simulation mode is excellent.

However your out of the box gameplay is really limited:
* the tutorials are not comprehensive - I didn't realise how to use external tanks until I watched a third party youtube video that mentioned it
* there are only 4 included missions, two of which involve air to air combat
* no campaigns - if you want one you'll need to spend another $50 for a map, and $10 for the campaign that uses it

All in all, it's a great simulation, but absolutely not good value for money when you compare against AAA games that retail for the same price.

After playing for a few hours it's obvious this is very much a work in progress and not the finished product.

Many parts of the MFDs and UFC are non-functional, and basic tutorials of weapon systems (other than non-guided ATG) are missing.

I can't recommend this - even for $40. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

An absolute joy to play in VR, easily one of the best VR purchases I've made to date.

Session's take on the skateboarding sim feels fairly fluid. The only thing it's missing is my board whiffing out from underneath my feet as I sprain my ankle.

Not sure if the DLC are worth it, but the core game is an amazing addition to the BattleTech/MechWarrior universe.

Hell Let Loose is a squad based game where working together is crucial to push forward your teams objectives. Similar to Squad, but a little more intense, and a little simpler to get started with.

Update: Still playing after 200 hours!

A less populated DayZ.

Like most games in this genre, there's not much to the gameplay other than "surviving" so you'll be getting gear, finding food, killing other players, and then repeating ad nauseam. Unfortunately, in the 6 hours I've played even this wasn't particularly fun – we only ran into 3 other players on a full 32 player server.

Despite the issues the game plays incredibly smoothly and looks fantastic.

Can't recommend Miscreated at the moment as it feels like there's little purpose to the gameplay, but the developers are active and I imagine it'll be great in a years time (if interest hasnt waned).
