Most of the negative reviews i've read are either objectively wrong, full of unreasonable expectations, or hypocritical. This is a new entry in the Atelier franchise, which has never been known for pushing the boundaries of graphical fidelity. An atelier fan expecting this game to look any better than it currently does is someone who is very misguided, it looks completely fine, well in line with the rest of the series. This is a new entry in the Atelier franchise, which is known for having a core system of game mechanics with changes around the edges to make each entry familiar but still unique from each other. An atelier fan expecting this game to be anything other than what it is is someone who is very misguided. This game really needs the actual fanbase of this franchise to start reviewing it instead of this terrible early wave of people who couldn't stomach 20 minutes of an anime JRPG. I love what i've played so far. The characters are enjoyable, the story is unobtrusive if you are not interested, the tutorial/intro is not very long by JRPG standards, and the gameplay is a bit buggy but still shows promise to be a fun active combat system with the cooldown focused management of skills and items.
