This game is genuinely great. The art is solid, the gameplay is tight, and the music is good. It's a puzzle platformer, challenging, but I never found myself calling ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on any of the levels. The only trick is to know when to upgrade and then come back to a room.
The guy who made this deserves your money. It's worth the off-sale price, but if you must, buy it on sale. If you like this sort of thing at all, get this game.

This game is just so good. The animation is gorgeous, the environments are interesting and varied, the combat is hard without being impossible and the controls are razor sharp.

Team Cherry did a hell of a job on this game. They packed a ton of character into places without many characters. (which is not a shot at the characters, they're interesting too)

I don't want to talk about this game in anything other than generalities because I think it should be experienced.
So, generalities: It's a metroidvania. You use a [sword] and cast spells. You gain movement abilities as you go, and also little mix-and-match charms that improve or alter your abilities and equipment in very interesting ways. There are bosses, mini-bosses, regular mobs, and tons of little secrets and surprises.

This game is worth whatever you pay for it. It's in my top 5, maybe top 3 for 2017 and it's absolutely in my top 100/all-time.
