In this game you play a man who moves so slowly, he dies of old age before he sees any animals. You can really feel how he's given up on life with the weight of every step, as he walks off into the woods, knowing no one will ever see him again. But they do, because he'll never leave sight distance. And you know how much he hates himself by how he chose the most painful way to die imaginable. Hunger, thirst, with nothing to distract him. Just him and (some minuscule section of the border between civilization and) the wild, that's always the same, because every time he looks up he's only a few steps from the last time he looked up. And in a way, you're the one who kills him. That's what he wants, he wants you to quit so he can die. He's self-aware. Don't take that burden onto yourself, just never play it to begin with.

One of those games that pushes all of gaming towards what we imagined it could be, before we got used to what it is. You win by changing the rules, and figuring out a way that works is really satisfying.

I suggest everyone tries it at some point in your life regardless of genre preferences. Before watching a LP, spoilers would ruin the experience.

Shame there's no workshop support, it's a perfect game for custom levels. You could easily use it for IQ tests. Edit: You can make and publish custom levels in the game now!
