How did I end up with a VAC ban?

When my younger brother decided to use hacks in CS:GO on my account⠀

When I got home from school, I walked into my bedroom and saw my younger brother effortlessly spotting enemies through walls and nailing perfect headshots. It didn't take long for me to realize he was using hacks.

I called him out and made him stop right then and there. But in the next morning, I powered up my PC, logged into Steam, and was greeted with a big message saying I had received a VAC ban⠀

Now, what do you think that motivated my younger brother to use hacks?

He explained that after a match someone sent him a DM, gradually befriended him over Discord and eventually shared files explaining to him how to install the hacks. I was concerned about the possibility of my PC being infected with a spy virus, so after that I took precautionary measures and decided to format it.

The moral of the story? Never leave young kids unsupervised on your computer⠀
