Some games try for a combination of gameplay and social aspects and never manage to make it work. This one nails it from the get-go.

Probably the best RoboCop game there ever will be, because it's clear from the outset that it respects the property and didn't try to reinvent or discard anything from it that the devs did not like. Forget buying it for a dollar, I bought it full price and didn't regret it.

I don't think I saw a single vampire the entire time but I did also slather myself in garlic.

The world has many problems but all of them can be solved by firing a giant metal fist at them.

Probably the best incarnation gameplay-wise of all the Kiwami games, and its story is still glorious.

No other game created has a moment as satisfying as smashing the skull of a giant charging fire-sneezing t-rex so hard it topples over.

This game has something like three tutorials (including a dream sequence where an Englishman wants to become a Japanese man after reading about it in a book) and still manages to not tell you everything about what the game has in store for you. Also at some point in the game your character trades the shorts he wears in for a more traditional fundoshi looking thing. It's a real labour of love that was reluctant to leave anything on the floor, and it shows in its endearing clutter and millions of ways to upgrade your gear.

You might not realise it, but TRANSFORMERS: Devastation is probably one of the most tightly tuned PlatinumGames games they've made. The level of control, combat flow, and the game's responsiveness to your inputs is quite unlike anything else you might ever see. You'll also be surprised by how the game acknowledges some of your general moves as dodges that activate focus time. It just understands what makes their games fun, while remembering why people enjoyed Generation 1 Transformers stuff.

The game's super short if you just intend to play it once and beat it though, like most of its ilk you're gonna be wanting to sink some time into it beyond just getting to the credits. If you do decide to invest some time into it, this game will definitely reward you by making amazing stuff happen and generally just make you feel like some sort of transforming combat super-genius.
