Might be the best singleplayer FPS I've ever played as of right now.

(Hopefully to get dethroned by Stalker 2)

Can't in good conscience recommend a game with such poor performances.
Worst part is, the low fps and the constant hitching only appear long after the refund window is gone.

Honestly seems like they planned this, worked really hard on the optimization of the beginning of the game and that's it.

It's pretty good if you intend to play with a controller, or willing to force yourself to.

If you like CoD, well, it's CoD.
If you don't, well, it's still CoD.
A rather brainless game since 2007.

Is it any good if you never played the original RE4?

Yes, it's probably even better, since there's no nostalgia googles getting in the way of enjoying it and seeing just how far better, in every single way, this really is.

Didn't care for it when I tried the demo on PS5, but seeing how I'm much more patient when I play on PC, I made it to the part with actual combat, and honestly I'm surprised, it's looks like it's a pretty good game.

Performances aren't amazing, but it's not like my PC was top of the line, either.

I wouldn't recommend it for more than 40 bucks if you're the type who pays games full price, or 30 if you're the type who always looks for a deal.

It's not bad, but it's far from the polished experience and GOTY certified game Chinese nationalists and people who feel they got one over the "woke" by buying this would have you believe.

They kept denying it was a Souls-like, and they clearly lied.

Problem being, while games like Dark Souls are harder, Wukong's more frustrating because the game design isn't quite as tight.

There's some weird choices in there.

I see no reason to even have a stamina bar in the first place, aside from wanting to be a Souls like. Which is weird, because they kept denying it would be a souls like.

I see also no reason to not be able to cancel any attack into dodge, nor not to have attacks do more damage or go straight into a critical or a free heavy hit after a perfect dodge.

A lot of the ways enemies can hit you also feel nonsensical, like the Wandering Wight and his weird free Area of Effect damage you can't dodge.

Now I will however say that I do have rather high standards, and while I love Dark Souls 1-3 (not 2) and Sekiro, I never cared for any Souls-like not made by FromSoftware and not helmed by Miyazaki.

Wukong for all its gaping frustrating flaws is the only one I ever did like.

If like me you thought Man of Medan's "twist" was far too easy to figure out, this one's isn't.

If you're interested in this, you probably played Volgarr 1.
If you liked it, you're gonna like this one.

Even better in pretty much every way
- Longer levels.
- More challenging.
- Better equipement system.
- Better music.

Only thing that Volgarr 1 did better thus far (I'm only on level 3) is the bosses.

Also be warned there's a hidden easy mode that triggers if you run out of continues and still click "yes" on the game over screen.
It turns you undead and makes you virtually unkillable.

There's also mini-checkpoints you should refrain from destroying if you don't want to restart the whole half level when you die.

These are two things I feel the game should've done a better job warning you about.

Why can I write a review for a game I don't even own?
Steam, you ok?
