It's just such a good game. The price tag seems a little high, especially if you're not familiar with any of the other games, but I can promise it's worth every penny.

Story wise it's a direct sequel to Psychonauts Rhombus of Ruin (VR) which is also a direct sequel to the first Psychonauts game. It is possible to play the game without any previous knowledge as the story is explained in the beginning, but knowing both of those games adds a lot to the experience. One of those games being Vr and the other about 16 years old does make accessibility a bit difficult, but for Rhombus of Ruin there's a 1 hour gameplay that I just watched instead.
Giving the prequel a remake/remaster before releasing the 2nd one would maybe have been a better idea, but it's still a great game even if the old look and gameplay can be a bit straining sometimes. (please give us a remake now)
