Loadingscreen simulator 2024.
Great game, even greater moddingcommunity. Unfortunately installing hundreds of Mods will impact your performance ever so slightly to the point where your multiplayer campaign crashes after nearly every loadingscreen.
Actually getting a round to start with friends will be the experience of your life.
Everyone saying this game is hard is coping, its just specifically designed to weed out the weakest of your friendgroup.

For that purpose i especially recommend trying:
- Neurotrauma (including all submods)
> Be ready to study medicine and still die
- Real Sonar
> Be ready to loose your ears, hate the captain and die
- Hazardous Reactors
> Be ready to repeat the "3.6 roentgen" line from HBO's chernobyl series every 5 minutes and die
- Barotraumatic/ Europawar
> Be ready to die by the hands of horrors beyond your comprehension

Do not enter the submarine editor. I built like 8 Subs, which took me atleast 100H. Everyone hated them (they were great). It drains you. I want my life back.

11.5/10 would dirtybomb my foes again.

Update: we are so back. (but only at the bug front, its still joever for Botdivers)

Update 2: we are even backer. (but when do i stop ragdolling for no reason)

Fun game once. Unfortunately fun was too good at killing chargers, so it got nerfed. Changing the flamethrower to be a waterpistol was kinda funny tho. Idea for the next update: remove weapons alltogether. I think they are too effective.
0/10 wouldnt ragdoll again.
Fire everyone in the balance department. I would say that a monkey on copious amounts of crack would do a better job, but maybe thats already the system in place.
I would be more than happy to update my review to a positive one, but my updates work similarly to arrowheads: while trying to improve something, it will just get even worse.

The Review-Ratio definitley doesnt tell the whole story here.

Since my Review ended up pretty long, because this game managed to frustrate me again while writing, and most people nowdays have ADHD, ill put my conclusion right here:

The Game is overall mid at best, which is why i cant recommend it. Especially not for 30 Bucks.
Its overall a great concept and a solid platformer. But thats it, a Concept.
I wouldnt even wait for a sale, i would hope for Ghostrunner 2 just being a better game.
If you are a diehard fan of the cyberpunk genre, and like fast pace games however - i would still recommend other games in the first place - but feel free to buy when its on sale. Its simply not worth full price.

For anyone wondering specifically why, here is a somewhat sophisticated review.

It took me under 8 Hours to play through the whole main story once, even with retrying most of the levels to improve, or to get most of the collectibles. 8 Hours, for 30 Bucks. Looking back at most other games on my Account, this has to be one of the worst "Hours of Fun/Dollar-ratios" i have ever had, without even considering that most of this game was not "fun" per se, but trial and error in an repetitive leveldesign or just me being stupid in one of the many puzzles.

While i do like the flow of the combat in this game, even tho it has its own massive flaws, the game is way to centered around the platforming aspect imo. You will often find yourselves sliding, jumping, and wallruning through gaint complexes for what feels like hours on end, not because its long, but because its extremely bland.
The most variation you will have in it however are the differences in the level design. While they are very distinguishable from each other, i was mostly annoyed by them making it sometimes much harder to see where you had to go, or by the level geometry interrupting my movement.
The movement overall feels very solid tho. But in the end most of it felt like an intermission between the next combat encounter, which i was just not a fan of.

The combat was actually fun, but raised so many questions for me.
Why do you have 4 different combat abilities...
...When you literally dont need them ever, except in the tutorial?
...When the levels rarely encourage you to use any of those?
...When there are so few amounts of enemies anyway?
The best moments of this game where the moments, when you enter a room filled with enemies, and you can choose how to handle the situation by yourself, often having to find an optimal way moving through it. As you might have already guessed however, these moments are rare. You will find yourself clearing a room full of enemies after 6 retrys like a total cyber-ninja-badass of doom, just to do a platforming puzzle with 36 retrys for the next hour. It sucks, and it makes me mad, that so much potential was just wasted. (which is overall why i write this Essay about it)
There are also some technical flaws coming along with it.
- Unforgiving hitboxes
- RNG Enemys (They wont hit a single shot, ore 360 1Tap you out of existance; Random movement patterns for teleporting enemys; ... )
- Enemies specifically designed to piss you off (I am looking at you, exploding spiderbot)
Plus some minor ones, often coming along with some movement problems.

The bossfights are not to bad, but also not very good or interesting.
The fight against Hel was pretty epic, defenitley one of my alltime favoruite Sword duel bossfights, but the one against Mara is mid at best, and the one in the elevator can go ♥♥♥♥ itself.
(like seriously why the ♥♥♥♥ did they have to make it so bad. how can anyone playtest this and think "hell yeah i love trial an erroring 90 times plus having to cheese the movement on walls to make it somewhat doable, because i am completely unable to see the laser and energy waves coming in time to react perfectly 100 times in a row without being able to save any progress between phases. HEEELL YEAHHHH" im ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pissed. its the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ first bossfight in the Game and its the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hardest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ part of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.)

Im am so pissed in fact, that i will play Ghostrunner 2 now and will be even more critical, considering how many users pointed out what flaws this game has.

Damn, watching paint dry was never so profitable

pros: i want to play vici 2 again

(i am now editing my review, since i replayed two campaigns, and am furious)

cons:

This Game is utterly broken on many levels.

You can micro your Industry precisely to the demands of the market, streamline your production, research the newest tech, modernise every branch of your ecenomy, make your GDP go up faster than everywhere else in the world, just to one day go bankrupt without being able to do anything against that.

One day you make +2k with lowest taxation, the next you lose 5k, just to make 3k on the next day until you flatline on constant minus 20k on highest taxation on the next day till the end of the game.

"just bulid profitable Factorys that fit the demand of the market" sure. they dont impact anything at all. they might allow you to get out of a deficit of goods (for the next five seconds).
but remember that building is a smooth way to go broke, since building a hut in the woods to cut down some trees not only takes over a year to finish, but costs your entire gold reserves out of playing 5 years before that aswell.

"Just exploit africa for profit then" doable. youll just run out of africa eventually. plus, one day the ai will screw over every diplomatic play you start anyway (and yes i am watching my infamy level).

"So just make powerful alliances" My man, did you even play the game? The AI is the personal embodyment of the "just say no" meme. you can boost relations, start a trade agreement... and then nothing else. "Alliance? nah man, cant trust you" (-100). "Defensive pact? well, if you give us favor, but be ensured, we will break it as soon as we get the chance." every. single. time. "the major power right next to us is having excellent relations with us and wants us to join there customs union? nu -uh." "Join the war of our alliance partner? just pretend to not be home"

Not even your own Protectorate will join your diplomatic play, not even the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ war.

And the war, jesus christ in haven, the war system... im sure most of you have heard how bad it is, so let me just say, google the Ren & Stimpy waking up meme, and you will have the visual representation of what its like to fight a war in this game.

Vici 2 is arguably the better game, and in vici 2 artisans can make tanks out of fruit...
I seriously cant believe that anybody ever playtested anything here. it just truly is a running theme in gamedevelopment these days: Releasing an unfinished, utterly broken game, and slowly patching it to something that works. Paradox is probably an extreme case in this scenario, with not only releasing unfinished games, but implementing objectively bad mechanics just to """"""rework"""""" them with an overpriced DLC.

I mean CK3 wasnt even that bad... but this... this is literally unbelievable. And now look how the massacred cities skylines... Maybe the game will be playable with the next major rework, but until then i wouldnt recommend to waste any time on learning any mechanics.

Get your ♥♥♥♥ together Paradox

List of bugs i encountered in my first two gps:

- Penalty System:
- getting 5 penaltys for not being able to catch up to a safetycar that came out because i lost my entire front wing
- not being able to serve a drive-trough penalty
- getting penalised for overtaking (no contact, green flags, not lapping)
- not getting penalised for crashing into a driver in front of me with 300 kph while on pitlane entry (he got 5 sec for me
crashing into him)
- getting a penalty after ai moved under braking
- getting a penalty for "cutting corners" on the outside while having a damaged front wing, to let faster cars trough

- Multiplayer issues:
- losing mfa controls after player 2 (in 2 player carrer) has a disconnect (how tf ???????)
- Ai ignoring Players
- not being able to end sessions early after one player crashes out

- general issues:
- ff holding steering wheel in place while you want to kalibrate it in settings (great design)
- cars tend to slide a lot easier with low diff. espescially in direct comparison with F12020
- Ai way to OP on starts even on lower difficultys
- Safetycar driving 50kph on straights
- Jeff's iq below room temperature

in conclousion: the only bug i havent got yet, that where present in all three last f1 games, is ai teleporting out of the pit lane onto the track. Normally beta testers get paid.

21/10 classical codemasters F1 release, cant say im disappointed, had some good loughs with my mate. Hope it gets fixed fast though

CS:GO Review

10/10 would tilt again
