Good game, but recent weapons balancing has been terrible.

I hate ants. They play such a huge role in the world.

But this game lets me exterminate them. Good game.

Massive improvement in combat fluidity compared to the older GEs.
Story isn't as strong, neither is the music. Character customization is meh, in terms of cosmetics. Still the silent protagonist. Still cringey dialogue. Still love the game.
Must get if you're a fan of the series.

A lot of the reviews here rave about how Fire Emblem fans should get this game without question. The only similarity with FE is the genre of the game.

The only important unit is the commander. Other friendly units feel expendable and inconsequential. They are standard grunts named "Swordmen" and "Pikemen", etc. There was no drive to try and keep them all alive, just keep throwing them at the enemy until your commander can fight the enemy commander.

There is no equipment system. I love a strategy game with customizable equipment depth to it. If there is one, I haven't played enough of the game. The game bored me for the reasons stated above. The voice acting irked me. First one hour of the game is just mindless grunts and screams, it got annoying.

If you're looking for a simple yet challenging strategy game, this game is fine. If you're looking for depth in character, look for another game. This game doesn't have it.

Hoping my refund request gets through.

Early Access Review
Early access, so absolutely do not get it if you are expecting a full game with fleshed out story.

That being said, I would still recommend this game to fans of Behemoth and people who like to play games in jolly co-operation. Gameplay is dynamic, though at the moment certain balancing could be (and should be happening) done. Units with high HP like the troll just steamrolls through even if pit against pixies. Support units like mascots and gnomes do not really have a felt impact, you'd rather bring something else of more worth than what is basically chip damage fodders. I have confidence that I can expect more from Behemoth, and do not regret my first ever early access purchase.

Would like to add that the music choice is superb and very "Behemoth", reminiscent of their past games.

TL:DR
Get if Behemoth fan, wait for full version if hesitant.

Haven't played much, maybe about 2 hours of it. But it's enough to say that this is a worthwhile game. I got it from humble bundle so I did *not* pay the full price for it. Anyways,

Excellent game music, while some of it is too loud for ceratin situations, most of it go with the atmosphere of the game. Put a pait of headphones on, play it at night when it's dark. That's what I've been doing, and I immensely enjoy the dialogue, visual novel so at your own pace, and mixing drinks.

All in all, good game to wind down after a long day, like reading a novel before bedtime with a warm drink by your side.
