Early Access Review
Was considering coming back to the game, after having a great time a few years ago. Seeing the changes the devs have made has killed any interest I had in returning. I don't know why you'd take such a promising game and completely ruin it like this.

Should be free, but at the very least they don't double or triple dip. If you bought this "DLC" for Warhammer 1 or 2, you receive it in 3 for free.

Having blood really makes a big difference. Visually the battles are just much more satisfying.

EDIT: Total War: Warhammer 3 has jumped the shark. The future of this game is constant unfixed bugs (Why does Nakai not have Kroxigors?) and DLC that gives you the same amount of content of a ~$14CAD lord pack from TWW2, at the low low price of $34CAD. The game is in a vegetative state and is being kept alive on life support. If you want to play it, get it on a STEEP sale.

The release was pretty terrible, but the patches between release and August 23rd (Immortal Empires release) brought it up to a pretty decent place. With the release of Immortal Empires on the 23rd, the initial vision of the game will be complete. All factions from game 1 and 2 will be playable on the big combined map. Do note that you require both game 1 and 2 in order to play Immortal Empires (to play multiplayer only the host needs all 3, everyone else only needs Warhammer 3). The cost to get every faction and lord dlc is very high, but in return you get the best currently available experience for Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Wait for a sale if you can to pick up all the DLC you might want.

Trying to take the easy way out with EAC, an almost totally ineffectual anti-cheat. This will not have any benefit to the game. How about putting actual work into your product instead?

The game is almost two years old. Why are you adding in DRM now? What possible reason do you have for degrading your game to the point Linux users can't play?

I was excited for Wilds and for Dragons Dogma 2, but at this rate they'll be getting a pass from me.

Consistently updated for years after their messy and somewhat deceitful launch. They could have just dropped it after their failure of a launch but they didn't and instead chose to put out free update after free update, releasing several expansions worth of new content with no sign of slowing down. I'm eagerly awaiting future updates to No Man's Sky, as well as any future projects they might come out with.

There's still plenty of flaws. Lots of poor design choices, having no option to simply update a ship design and instead having to create a new variant EVERY TIME you change anything, for instance.

But if you put those aside you have a gorgeous, intensely thematic, and detailed world that is reminiscent of Dune and Deserts of Kharak. The gameplay is brutal and somewhat obtuse, but is played in multiple different layers that all work differently. I think it's worth picking up, they've put out a few patches that have addressed most of my issues with the game. There's still plenty of work to do to really polish this, but it's a gem worth polishing nonetheless.

OLD REVIEW 2021/07/29
There's obviously a very good game here, the artstyle is gorgeous and the gameplay while nothing special is fun and suits the game. However, with all that said there are some UI and QOL issues that need to be resolved before I'd consider recommending it. You can see very good summaries of the issues in other reviews, but for me the biggest issue is the bizarre and inconsistent mouse sensitivity. Not being able to click where I want to click because the cursor speeds up and slows down as it pleases is extremely frustrating and kills any interest in the game that I might have.

If those things are fixed then this is an easy recommend.

This DLC killed any desire I have to actually play Elite. Don't bother with it until it's been "released" for a year or so. Never pre-order anything from Frontier.
