It's fun because it's simple, exciting and not super difficult to get into like other roguelikes. You still have plenty of options to increase the difficulty and complete lots of achievements.
The visuals are nice and colorful and the game runs quite well.

It's a beautiful, immersive well written RPG, but unfortunately it carries over most of the bullcrap from the first game: Painful early game, awful saving system.

Get ready to lose hours of progress just because of a stupid mistake you make or because you are so immersed you forget to save.

Generally it's pretty well optimized and looks nice.

Best cooperative game of this generation. However it's insane that a 2025 game does not have a proper antialiasing and/or upscaling method.

It's an awful platformer

The quality of this remaster is even higher than the first 3. Almost every flat texture asset on the walls is replaced with beautiful 3d walls and models. Everything looks gorgeus.

The gamepad shortcut features are fantastic, you can even quicksave and quickload on a controller!

TR AOD: It is still a mess but it controls much better than the original game. Unfortunately some bugs are still present. The updated character models and textures are absolutely fantastic. The dynamic reflections/water reflections are missing but those were kind of messy and weird looking in the original game too. They really tried to bring out the best from TR6 but it's still a mess. Make sure you save your game often to different slots.

TR4: Unfortunately 4 is still a very complex and difficult game to figure out, you get no maps or anything that might help to finish it.

TR5: Maybe the more digestable and easyest game of the 3, I'm not sure if original known bugs are ironed out, I never encountered them.

This was my first encounter weith this gsme ever. It's fun, pretty decent remaster, all the UI UX changes are very welcome. (Autosaves, skill level changes, in-game weapon change)

This game is great for a first playthrough but it's a chore, the user interface and user experience is the worst I have ever seen in a japanese game. (Maybe Dragon's Dogma comes close) The UI and UX is is peak 6th generation garbage. It didn't age too well.

About the writing and characters:
Issun becomes a likable character but he is creepy and annoying most of the time.
Also it has this weird japanese stereotype that is basically: Sleeping = Lazy. For some reason this rubs me the wrong way.
It really annoys me that the characters, especially issun are always condescending, and for some reason the game always wants to teach you something about morality and attitude. And it feels awful.

Broken, left by the dev, refunded

It's alright, it's not going to be everyone's GOTY. The bossfights are interesting. The voice acting is awful though.

Much better than the first game in every way. Much more personality, good guns, interesting maps, better textures and graphics overall.
