Generally this is an interesting and fun to play project from a small team but it's not gonna set record sales, because it's a bit jank.

This is a TPS inspired by a lot of things, one of them is Returnal. But the only things here are the weird locations and the bosses with bullet hell patterns that remind me to that.
The story isn't particularly smart or interesting.
So far it's a linear TPS with a really early access feel, also feels amateurish and kind of an asset flip. The game definitely gripped me and I'm going to finish it. The devs clearly care about it and it shines through.
The level design is not particularly smart. If you do what the devs intended you to do, the game is fine, the moment you divert from the linear levels, you run into bugs and glitches here and there. (Eg in the second level your character locks into slow walk animation if you happen to walk back to a starting point, small things like this. )
The puzzles are pretty interesting.
You get some kind of currency in the game but you cannot spend it on anything only used for progression.
The visual style is interesting but it's all over the place mixing different artstyles, feels cheap in a lot of places.
There is only one graphics setting that controls the upscaling resolution. (As far as I found) But fortunately the game is very well optimized despite being an Unreal Engine game, and besides the ones mentioned above, the game seemed to be bug free.
There are no sound effects for a lot of things, therefore there is no feedback for a lot of things, especially the wall run parts. If there are sound effects, they are very quiet. Monsters don't seem to have a walking sound etc.
WSAD cannot be remapped!

I'm gonna update this review as I experience more of the game.

Interesting story and relaxing gameplay. However it's not made for multiple walkthroughs, dialog choices don't matter either.
Unfortunately still getting choppy movement and hitching despite it being a 2016 game.
The game also follows this trend of "not seeing any human models because animating them would have been too expensive to make" OK, there is 1 insignificant animated human model only in this game for 2 seconds.

This game is awful by design. Besides the cool visuals, literaly nothing is good in this game.
The mechanincs are intentionally designed to be as slow and finnicky as humanly possible. And the enemies and puzzles are all built around these awful mechanincs. Which makes this a painfully bad experience. They should take out the glaive charge mechanic as a qol feature. No wonder it flopped like hell.

GB created a super immersive, yet easy to learn climbing mechanic. Really nice demo

Awful experience, feels cheap and the story doesn't seem to go anywhere. After an hour I got fed up and refunded

Good dlc, basically 3 in 1, absolutely worth the asking price. Isle of the blessed is so much fun to play.

Excellent game, reminds me of Okami with the combat system and the visual style.
It's a really chill game with charming writing and well paced gameplay. Each zone has it's unique magic abilities that need to be used in combat and puzzle solving. This gives variety to the gameplay and pacing. I liked the balance of puzzles and combat. The music is also super chill and nice to listen to.
My only problem is that the main character is butt ugly.

I never played this, I really like the FMV worldbuilding. But as a videogame and shooter in 2024 this is pretty lackluster when it comes to mechanics. It's basically a doom/hexen clone with a segmented open world with fancy presentation. I believe the engine itself is even less advanced than Doom's. So you really need your nostalgia goggles to enjoy this.

Nightdive did a fantastic work with the remaster as always.

EDIT: Except that there is a major save game issue with the game in the 1.0 release. My save is broken now and I need to restart the whole thing.

It's alright but a lot of things need fixing. The devs keep rolling out pretty good qol updates here and there. The grind is much worse than in warframe even for the non-ultimate descendants. Also if you want to maximize your mod capacity you need much more resources and time for that.
But repeating the same content again and again can be exhausting.
