Early Access Review
Review of the game as-is in the bottom paragraph, I wanted to court some controversy first. I know a lot of people are mad about the multiplayer delays, I mean god, I'm looking forward to that so hard I wrote a short D&D-style campaign for it. The developers ran into stability issues, okay, whatever, it happens. The reason why they can't release because of those is because even if the core audience of the game is totally okay with working around those bugs, the people who come back to besiege for the multiplayer will not, and when the multiplayer drops, that's going to be a lot of people. I personally support the devs for biding their time like this; spiderling is an indie studio rather unusually known for their polish, I'd hate for them to lose that now.

Actual review time.

Strong sense of design when it comes to block function. building and operating vanilla machines is super fun, unbelievably deep, and even figuring out how to get a block to go somewhere at high level can be a puzzle with its own interesting set of tools to solve it. If you get bored with vanilla, the game is made in unity, which means it's got a very easy modding system familiar to a lot of developers, and mods are plentiful as a result. If you're not an engineer at heart, don't expect more than 20 hours of gameplay, but if you are an engineer, you can expect a few hundred more.
