After laughing at the rocky release of this game, I decided to pick it up due to the sale + the release of the NEXT update.

Wew lad.

I'm only like 5 hours in, and tbh the game still has some way to go in terms of optimisation (I get about 40-50fps on a R7 2700X + 1070Ti at Medium settings), but I've been playing alongside two of my buddies and it's a pretty enjoyable experience so far.

Certainly looks nice and sharp, and I enjoyed the fact they packed a few memes in. Laughed quite a few times.

I do have a minor concern in that it seems to use a lot more of my system resources than I anticipated, GPU (Radeon HD7950) was at 70-80% usage the entire time, and the CPU (4.7GHz i7 4790k) was at about 40% load. It did run at a buttery smooth 60fps but for a visual novel, it strikes me as somewhat unoptimised.

Factorio is that sort of game that would cause you to get less than three hours sleep within a 72 hour period. Even on its own, the game is fantastically addictive and contains a fair amount of content. But of course, there are those who want more, and the modding scene for Factorio is just massive. More abilities for modders to play around with the game come around with nearly every update, so there's almost always something you haven't done yet.

Having already played the PSP fan translation of this game, and being about halfway through SDR2 (the second one), I already knew what to expect with this. Either way, it's a well made port and frankly looks a million times better than running it through a PSP emulator...

And apparently SDR2 is coming at some point this year, so yay :D

So I'm a fan of OMSI. It's the best bus simulation you'll find around as far as I'm aware.

Whilst I do get frustrated by its (frankly) many bugs, I constantly find myself picking up my steering wheel (highly recommended) and doing a route or two.

Whilst the graphics don't look very pleasing, the buses themselves are VERY well modelled, as well as their audio. As Nerd³ said, it's got quite possibly the best sound I've ever heard in a game.

I've said enough, so here's some pros/cons:

Pros:
* Great simulation
* Bloody amazing audio
* Well modelled buses
* Rather moddable

Cons:
* Crashes a lot
* AI leaves a lot to be desired. Pulling to the right, indicating to the right, then turning left, cutting me up and crashing into the side of my bus? Thanks mate.
* Graphics engine leaves a lot to be desired.
* Performance is mediocre at best.

Considering the success of Cities In Motion, I had high hopes for this game.

Boy, was I wrong...

This game is absolutely amazing. It runs really well, looks good and looks to have great modding potential in future. Little details like the water backing up behind a dam, swaying electricity wires etc make this game look fantastic. It's everything that SimCity should've been and more.

The towns look small when you first start, but be rest assured you can grow a city up to 6x6km in a Prison Architect style land purchasing method. This is pretty much rivalling Cities XL in terms of raw city size.

Overall, 10/10
