It's hard to describe this game, but imagine Myst + a non-haunted version of Betrayal at House on the Hill. If you like either of those things, you'll like this game. If you like both of those things, you'll love this game.

Early Access Review
It takes a special sort of dimwit to complain that an early access game is lacking features. Buy it now if you can't wait and watch it evolve. Otherwise, wait until it's released into 1.0. But don't get an early access game, then moan and groan in the reviews that's incomplete.

It's fun and pretty. However, it doesn't support AMD 6000 series GPUs for the gAI patterns (which is fine by me, I can make my own patterns by hand).

Can't wait to see where it ends up!

Short of not having a lot of maps, this doesn't feel like an early access game. It's worth the price as it is. Which means it can only get better.

Edit: the dev is still using AI generated assets. I'll change my review back to positive when the dev uses some of their money to hire an artist. The game has sold enough copies, been featured by streamers, etc., that they can definitely afford an artist to do ONE image for them. Disappointing.

Also, I'm beginning to suspect the dev has abandoned this "early access" game now that it has experienced a modicum of success. Prove me wrong, dev.

I wanted to like this game. I didn't have the problems understanding the mechanics like others have reported--they work just fine. Use your brain a little bit and you'll be fine. However, the difficulty doesn't increase fast enough, so the first few days are pretty boring. Could be just an issue with pacing the demo. Maybe there will be better difficulty controls in the actual game.

Also, gonna be honest, I'm not interested in a game where the fat women are ugly and the thin women (with ENORMOUS chests) are hot. Gross. Not wishlisting this one.

Watched TheHotCross (Gary) play these games and wanted to support the dev! The games are so silly (complimentary) and full of earnest effort. Keep it up, dev!

Cute and nerve-wracking all at the same time.

The game is really cute! IMO, the price point for the amount of content is spot on. And you'll have a different experience running the tavern based on how many people you play with--the quests and recipes will all stay the same, but the flow of the tavern will be a lot different. If you want a nice way to chat with friends while running your own tavern, definitely pick it up. I'd love it if they released new content in the future, but honestly, I'm happy with what's included.

Early Access Review
I play a heavily modded version of Stardew Valley to remove what little stress there is from the game. Fields of Mistria is that, without all the mods. A lot of the QoL things I wish I had in SDV are already built into this game, making it even cozier (how is that possible?!). If you like SDV, but wish it was even more laid back, give this game a shot.
