dark souls is one of those games series that made me wish the fans were less pretentious and the controls were less dense because this series and especially the first game has one of the most lush, interesting, and rewarding universes ive had the opportunity to spend time in. admittedly this game is pretty slow in terms of pacing but the payoff in certain areas is beyond worth the slog you have to deal with in others

being as old as it is the game could definitely use more polish and the combat feels sluggish at times but overall its an enjoyable and relatively easy game once you get used to the pace it moves at. i wish it didnt train you to be as reliant as a shield but given how weak dodging is in pve it ends up being your only real option if you want to make things easier for yourself

this game comes highly recommended from me if you dont mind something a little slower and a little more obtuse. definitely worth the $20 for the artorias fight alone

this is the worst game ive ever payed money for. just plain awful, honestly. maybe im just SO BAD that when i press the appropriate directional key my overwhelming lack of skill at this game negates the keyboard input so that melody just falls flat on her face but i dont think thats really the problem here. i think i might start to enjoy this game if the controls worked or if it wasnt such ♥♥♥♥. dont buy this game

idk im a furry so i thought a cool dude with a talking sword looked like fun and it was. neat hack n slash kinda deal where you mash some buttons and make a lot of things explode. its pretty great. whacky story that was hampered in its delivery only when the cutscene audio stopped syncing entirely. still a lot of fun with lots of ♥♥♥♥ to discover and do

Teleglitch is one of the most unsettling, difficult, and enjoyable rouge-likes that I've had the pleasure of playing. The curve is immensely steep but definitely worth the climb and I would reccomend this game to anyone looking for at least a moderate challenge.

Proteus is definitely a journey and "works" far better as a piece of entertainment if you accept you're not so much playing a game but taking a long walk on a bizarre island. The various things you'll encounter on your trip can occupy any number of levels of deeper meaning, anywhere from just an odd occurance to some sort of greater metaphor about life, death, and rebirth. This is a game worth purchasing.

An incredible puzzle game. The ending makes the entire ambient, vaguely unsettling experience of a trek worthwhile. An absolute steal for $5.

Starbound definitely had a strong start and while the current game is very nice for the point that it's in currently I would still be skeptical in purchasing it. It's definitely cute and a huge time sink even with the (honestly painfully) limited scope it occupies. The developers seem well meaning but I'm not sure if they're ever going to deliver on their sweeping promises and for that reason I'd refrain from purchasing it if you aren't at least 90% sure on it.

Really gorgeous game with a highly unsettling story. It's worth a second playthrough or a very careful listen to first time to fully grasp the way each of the four mentioned characters stories intertwine. Definitely worth getting for the experience.
