This game is amazing if you liked the originals - the graphics are much better but still faithful to the original, the game now has mod support and runs at higher frame rates. I could never get TR2 or TR3 to launch even when following various guides so it's nice just to be able to play them again. I'm not sure how good the game is for those who never played the originals as you will just need to get used to the controls, but I think it would still be fun
I haven't had any issues with the camera like others have reported but I only use tank controls, sometimes the camera does bug out, but no more than in the original games.
I hope the devs can add some graphical settings - for me it would be nice to change resolution, running as windowed or exclusive fullscreen, frame limit, etc.
Hopefully they can also release a remaster of Chronicles, The Last Revelation and Angel of Darkness someday :D

good

Quite cool to see how much it improves graphics, but really annoying that it seems to crash every time you tab out though, and sometimes just when pressing Alt+X. Really smooth with RTX 4090 at over 150fps with DLSS set to auto and much nicer than playing the original, unless the dated graphics give you a nostalgic feeling

a great remaster of the original game that still keeps the feel of the original game, but hugely improves in graphics and gameplay

The story is amazing, the gameplay is very different from other games but really fun! The choices you make actually influence the story in interesting ways, and the actors are amazing throughout!

Gameplay is still really fun and there is lots of content in story + getting 100% in each level. My only criticism would be it would be better if there were more control/keyboard options

The game is a bit buggy and hackers showing up more and more but to be expected from a free lidl unity game.

If you can handle the frequent casual racism this is really fun and has potential!.

I love all the classic tomb raider games and they have huge nostalgia for me and I never tried any of the newer games. Decided to grab SOTR on sale as I heard good things about it. This game is really amazing - the story is good, the controls feel natural and the animations are smooth. The graphics are amazing although not really a top priority for me. There is a lot to explore.

Will point out negatives as they are quite minor and a lot easier than listing all the positives.
One thing I feel is noticeably lacking compared to the older games which made them 'classics' for me is the sound - there is no real iconic music in this game or memorable ambient sounds like the games from the late 90s.

Lara's voice sounds very American a lot of the time but you get over it

Every tomb/mission feels quite short in comparison to what I am used to in the older games - it feels like you're basically in and out in about 15 minutes, although if you go for the challenge tombs as well this adds to the time a lot

Upgrading weapons and using the perception abilities feels a bit unnecessary so i don't bother with this

On the hardest difficulty on my first playthrough and it really isn't very difficult, about right for me but usually i play games on 2nd hardest


There are so many amazing aspects of this game, you can really get immersed in every level and play for hours without realising. i hope the next games in the series will improve on this and i'll have to try ROTR and TR2013 after this!

Quite a short game but very unique and enjoyable

the game is quite fun and there is a lot to grind - you could play for over 1k hours and you would still be a long way off getting every survivor and killer to prestige 3. the game is more enjoyable if you buy the dlc and factor that in to the price, as this will give you access to lots of other very useful perks. (DLC perks appear in the ingame store although they are randomised weekly so if you are looking for a particular perk you could wait a very long time).

You do come across bugs but in my experience on PC it doesn't feel especially buggy - will always be complaints about hit detection and things like that which is just the nature of online gaming and each players pings

Would help if they gave just a bit more bloodpoints - during the events with offerings to boost bloodpoints it is fine (can actually hit limit quite quickly and progress fast), but outside of events it does feel very slow and too grindy to actually get levels up and unlock perks. just doubling the standard rate so the average game gives you around 50k points would be good

would recommend is a lot of fun and not too expensive (including dlc)
