knight op, rook is for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. game is good. ran into 4 bugs. for one thing: the first time a piece dies in the replay (player controlled or not) the rooks wall would spawn and immediately break, only for the first piece to break. subsequent pieces are fine and die properly. secondly, after accepting a rematch both sides would appear white on my screen (on my opponents screen, they were correctly colored). third, for unknown reasons, my right ability (most commonly got this bug as pawn, so, my pawn summon move) would appear completely whited out/the icon was missing, the ability still worked, i just couldnt see the icon/timer. lastly, also for unknown reasons, as bishop my blunderbuss and grenade were suddenly shifted up, if that makes sense. i couldnt see my shotgun at all, but i *could* see the very bottom of my grenade. all i know is that i was under the table when it happened. hope this helped, had a very fun time playing this with my friend (who only beat me once in about 8 games total lol)

this game made my gluten allergy go away

if you want to prove your worth as a multitasking monarch this game is for you. on a slightly more serious note, this game just feels fun to play. i got the red moon night, and while all of my trees died because i had an unupgraded spud rifle, i felt like a god mulching up all of those slugs with my woodchipper tractor. or how about those moments where you dodge bullets like ♥♥♥♥♥♥ neo on one heart waiting for the heart beats to grow, or running around your farm havesting hundreds upon hundreds of flowers to slowly whittle down the final boss. sure, you die a lot, but its a roguelite! slowly getting better and better, finding the anthills, beating the new hard year you just unlocked, only for a new even harder one to unlock... its addicting.

well, coming back after playing the game for nearly 10x as long as when i first reviewed the game, i hope its clear this game is maybe the most engaging game ive ever played. the movement feels fair, the guns feel powerful, the combat feels meaningful and fleshed out, and the music... dear god the music... castle vein, cyber grind, and (the one for the super secret boss that i cant name for spoiler reasons but lets just say rhymes with linus slime) are such masterpieces it makes me wanna buy them on a disk and play them in my car old school style. speaking of style, this game is oozing with it, and i dont just mean the style meter. even the small, insignificant things, like... well thats the thing! nothing in this game *feels* small. its all so grandiose and in your face. if you take the time to look at things, the models and textures for everything is so detailed, like the whiplash's... rope thing actually wraps around the arm leading down to the hand where the little knife thing gets shot from, or the core eject shotguns core having a skull on it (you kinda need to be using the time slow down major assist for that one honestly). This is not even mentioning the *epic customization* you can do to your hud, from simple colors to what part of the screen your gun is on (i prefer middle), to even hiding hud elements like what fist you have equipped or what charge your railcannon is at.

to sum up what will frankly be my longest review for a game ever, play ultrakill.
