it's stardew valley if concernedape dropped acid twice a day during development. Very chaotic, very fun stardew-roguelike with super cool 90s-style graphics and animations. Think Jazz Jackrabit.

The music is also fantastic, a friend called it "goblin taverncore" which fits.

Basically you try to balance going to to combat areas for run buffs, spell scrolls, abilities, and companions, then rush home to both defend your plants from enemies, plant new crops, water, and fertilize them. It's insanely chaotic and there's always 10 things you should be doing at the same time.

Once you get a good run going, though, you're planting 10 seeds at a time, calling in a tractor to water all your crops, and your army of flying gunpigs and turretcows are mulching enemies for fertilizer. Good stuff.

Always find myself coming back to this game and it never struggles to hold my attention. Like others said, it should certainly be included in best of the genre conversations.

Genuinely and wholeheartedly wish the devs would revisit this banger in the form of more content updates, DLC, or a sequel but all of those are incredibly unlikely.

Your run entirely depends on whether the shop rolls good enough a weapon early enough to finish bosses within the timer. This means that, around 15 and 30 minutes into the game (the first two bosses), you will find out whether your run is bricked outside of your control by poor RNG.

The default weapon will not even suffice for non-boss nights, but you can mitigate that to some extent by never having crops out at night. I still found that the timer is a misplaced mechanic because it creates a very early DPS check that you have no influence over.

I do not recommend the game, but if you think this issue may not bother you then you're free to check within the refund window.
