I'm not american but it feels like all of the characters which are supposed to be sympathetic are basically west coast liberals with cowboy accents. On the other hand, any characters which don't represent liberal values are all very clearly antagonistic or really hamfisted satire. RDR1 was more tolerable because the story was less domineering of the overall experience
