MY RATING:
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ✖︎ ✖︎ ✖︎ ✖︎
06 / 10

PRO:

+ the best dungeons and raids of any loot shooter game
+ the quality of the last existing PvE endgame content (Grandmaster Nightfalls etc.)
+ hundreds of hours of playtime being ahead for new players
+ a lot of things to grind for (f.e. armor / weapons with prefered stats, exotics etc.) when you are new
+ detailed lore with books etc. for interested fans
+ after 3 seasons full of trash, the game just became good again - the current PvE content is nice

CONTRA:

- extremely unbalanced PvP mode with a trash P2P server system
- a lot of great missions and unique content has been deleted in the past 1-2 years
- loads of recycled content, weapons, armor etc. (some are pretty nice with new perks, but still old)
- seasonal PvE content is nothing else than thawed occupational therapy (boring af)
- ingame shopping and the task to make players spend their real money for useless stuff seems to be the number 1 priority for Bungie now
- everything in and around the game gets more and more expensive
- oldschool players / heavy grinders / daily players have basically nothing thrilling to do
- all the items you grind for via endgame (or just repeatable) content are literally only a collection for builds that aren't so much different in reality
- still way too much gatekeeping of shaders and all this kinda totally basic stuff
- Bungie acts like it's a sinking ship

SUMMARY:

When you look at recent interviews, game / DLC prices, micro transactions and all that, you see that Bungie is still the money hungry company full of leaders who love to overestimate themselves. They tried to fix the game with a bit of new effort during the last season, but all the action stopped once again. It's not even close to be as good as it was between 2019 and 2022. I always pushed myself to find back my hunger for this game, to start grinding again like I did - but nothing what's up in Destiny 2 right now brings joy to my face. The Meta is stale af, the content is stagnating and we all have been there so many times. I see content creators quitting, I see many oldschool players quitting and I think: "How can Bungie sit there and be cool with all that?" But hey... with a great Remnant 2 and it's DLCs, a still great Borderlands 3 and the upcoming Borderlands 4, there are very good alternatives for exciting PvE.

Season 25 and 26 brought some fun new dungeons and activities, but the Nether f.e. is much less than promised in my eyes. They talked about all those big "roguelite elements", while in reality you just heal much more slowly or via certain items / weapons and you spawn in different parts of the map when you join the activity again.
