Early Access Review
Pretty fun, but also pretty janky, with stuff spawning on top of you. Controls are also not ideal, with you having to turn your whole character with the mouse, and sensitivity is also weird, feels like there's built in mouse acceleration.

Like others have said, the expansion model is rubbish. Game is also unstable, in my 100+ hours (as of time of writing), I have encountered quite a lot of crashes (game freezing, game closing by itself, booted back to start screen). Given that my PC has relatively high specs (5950X, RTX3070, 64GB RAM) and that other games I play hardly crash, I'm inclined to believe that this is an issue with Destiny 2 itself.

Story was interesting right till the ending where all your choices are laid before you in a few lines of text and a short cut scene, makes the choices you had made feel unfulfilling.

Parkour is a mixed bag, it works sometimes but it just breaks the rest of the times. For example, even with the slide skill I couldn't slide most of the time. The puzzles are pretty fun to solve though tedious to do so at times as you are just repeating the same thing over and over.

Combat gets a bare pass, am disappointed that there are barely any ranged weapons available in this game. I'm not expecting a huge amount of ranged weapons but compared to the first game, there were barely any.

Gear system is cool I guess but the bonuses aren't that significant for me to go around hunting for better gear.

Night system is absolute rubbish, by default there are no volatiles out, only those howlers on the streets which can be completely avoided. The only time the volatiles come out is during a level 4 chase, certain story missions and going into dark zones during the day. This made the night time very forgiving, combined with the increased number of safe zones, night time has become a joke compared to the first game.

TL;DR: Don't buy this game expecting the same experience from DL1 (like I did), it's a pretty different thing altogether

When you actually manage to get a match through the match making, its pretty fun.
When you don't however, watch bots stand around and let you get eaten by a hag and then take over them to realize you have 65k ammo but its actually 0 but its actually not 0 but you can't actually pick up ammo anyway so you're just left with punching the ridden in hopes of the other bots killing them.

If playing solo, pick up some explosives (pipebombs/grenades), they can help get the bots unstuck should they get stuck trying to climb over obstacles.

This game suffers from some serious performance issues. For reference, I have 2 machines, a Blade 15 base (i7 10750H, RTX 3060 and 16GB RAM) and a rig with Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 3070 and 32GB RAM @ 3400MHZ. However, on the Blade 15, the game becomes an unplayable mess with the high frametimes (>1s) while on the other machine I get stutters occasionally (every 30s or so).

Combat is kludgy, hard to get progression on your equipment meaning later dreams are hard because you barely scratch the enemies (10+ hits to kill one). Even if you do have the enhancement rooms available, you won't have enough sand to upgrade all your equipment. Currently have a sick build you wanna run for the rest of the run? Sorry, you won't be able to.

Whats good:
- Good writing (Story & Characters are well developed)
- Interesting puzzles throughout (Requires you to use all the tools you have to progress)
- Some boss fights (Attacks are telegraphed and weak spots are obvious)
- Soundtrack (Hot damn is it good)

Whats ok:
- Tweaks (Kind of mediocre tweaks available, ended up not crafting most of them)

Whats not ok:
- Some bosses (Hitboxes are all over the place, can't actually tell if you would get hit)
- Some mechanics (Sometimes the electrified bombs I shoot don't activate the pylons for some reason)

Conclusion:
Overall a pretty decent game, barring some parts of the game. Has a nice story where the characters develop alongside the story. If some fights are too hard, just turn the difficulty to relaxed and enjoy the story.
