Early Access Review
Cool Concept, however it is definitely being released too early, I only got the game running twice, the rest of the time i got errors that would make the game refuse to open related to DirectX12 or something, i was unable to even change the DirectX version to potentially fix the issue, there are also often times crashes while loading a match, so sadly for now i'm going to have to put this on the shelf of games that will wait a few years for them to develop.

Its a cool idea, but only really feels like a half working tech demo than a actual playable title.

Also there's already hackers in the majority of lobbies and the game uses P2P connection (which is already a big no no nowadays), It definitely needs some form of anticheat and better networking.
The Gun-play is alright, time to kill makes sense, Map design is decent too, the hardware requirements leave stuff to be desired, I am playing on a system just below minimum, being a 2060 6GB mobile and a I7-9750H
I got about 25fps which is bearable for me as an EX console player
its far from the worst game release but please refrain from buying it for a good while, it needs atleast another year to cook before its remotely ready for Early Access

Actual Review Below:

Helldivers-2 is a standout game of 2024, despite its recent drama due to Sony not knowing when to not kill a successful game. Helldivers has been one of the greatest games I've played in years, and the only live service that doesn't shove micro-transactions in your face, and its micro-transactions are completely optional, as you can earn while playing. Its definitely a game to look at getting, though in light of recent drama, i would proceed with caution, until we know what Sony plans to do next

Unlike most bad reviews this ones an actual review, VRChat used to be a good game, however in the time recently that ive played its taken a turn for the worst, children run amok in nude avatars, pedophiles usually not far from them, crashers constantly ruin the experience, aswell as malicious client users running around with no stop in sight, they recently added Easy Anti Cheat that was going to stop them but did nothing, i left this game fully over a year ago back when ripping was a huge thing, this game is a lost cause, If your going to go anywhere, go to ChilloutVR, it may be a beta game but its far better than this game, the VRChat Developers do not care for us anymore, they only care for the invetors, AVOID this game!

Nearly 2,000 hours since the last review, it's time for an updated assessment.

As we reach mid-2024, ChilloutVR continues to attract new users steadily. Although the community remains small, I'm noticing an increasing number of fresh faces over time. We've seen the introduction of Lua Scripting in the Experimental phase, along with a range of new CCK components such as Gravity and Buoyancy, complemented by a wealth of uploaded props, avatars, and worlds—some of which I've contributed myself.

People often say that the game is dead or has no community, but this is far from true. Many of these people seem to log on when the community isn't active—typically when Europeans are at work and Americans are asleep, or during other low-activity times of the day. During peak hours, you can see anywhere from 30 to 60 people in a single instance, with many more in private sessions. Some players may not realize that public sessions are safe, or they may simply prefer private ones.

Speaking of safety, the game has very active moderation, with at least one moderator in the public lobby almost all the time. The moderation staff, along with the developers, are very approachable and friendly. You can engage in conversations or even banter with them if you know them well enough.
Even without moderation staff in a lobby, it's super easy to handle toxic users. For example, if someone uses a "crasher" (assuming they manage to upload it), it would at most reduce the framerate. You can open your menu with the Escape key, click "Remove All Avatars," then click "Current Instance," and block them. This process takes about five seconds.
Additionally, if you record the user performing such actions, you can submit a ticket with the video attached in the game's Discord (use code ABI when joining via a server invite). Typically, the user will be banned within 30 minutes of ticket submission, as long as the clip shows them breaking the TOS.

I still consider this game the premier VR experience for socializing even if its a newcomer. While the UI is due for an update (rumored to be imminent), progress on Quest Support is actively ongoing. Testing for new content is ongoing, and overall development is progressing quite well. While I can't guarantee everyone will prefer ChilloutVR over alternatives like VRChat, it stands out as a haven from crashers, toxic users, children, and other negative elements pervasive in other VR environments.

I confidently rate ChilloutVR 25 out of 10 stars, and I anticipate enjoying it for years to come.
