In this review I will cover both base game and NGS.

Base PSO2 : Played both on JP and Global and I had loads of fun. Very friendly community, good and interactive gameplay with a rather good story telling for a free to play game. Spent too much of my free time to the point I wouldn't even realize I sat on my computer for more then 4 hours. The graphics of then was decent, a potato pc would run it rather easily. The customization was exeptionally well done with only minor issues here and there (for example you couldn't recolor baseware, only outerwears and costumes, most accesories etc.), same goes with general character customization.

For NGS : This is where my negative review comes into play. Sad to say, the game is more of a downgrade in a way compared to basegame. Yes, the new graphics and sounds is very nice. The combat is decent but gets stale very quickly. Player customization is still great (might say even better than base) but all in all, story is slightly lacklustre but it doesn't help we din't have a proper content drop for half a year. The two new classes they added (Braver and Bouncer) did not peek my interest even trying my hardest to have fun with them. We've gotten only 1 new urgent quest (making it 3 in total) that... bearly anyone likes, myself included. We had only 4 events, 2 of which was basicly a reskin with currency, new weapon type and giving a jpg icon over a mob. Oh and you cannot sell stuff on the shop unless you spend 5 bucks whiles removed the 3-day shop pass from base making it rather not too friendly for f2p players.

To finalize my review : If you do give the game a try, go in with rather low expectation and try the base game first, even tho the game will most likely force you to play New Genesis first. I trusted Sega with this game since it is not my first Phantasy Star game I've played and seen how base PSO2 was going. It's rather a insult at the moment and I really do hope they fix their stuff before they lose the players and the game crashes and toples down like a house of cards.
