It's unfortunate that this game is in the spot it's at during the time of this review. There are many valid criticisms for game performance on PC, as well as other complaints about the amount of content that is available in the game after launch and it's overall difficulty. In my opinion, this game a perfect introduction into the series if you're trying the Monster Hunter franchise for the first time. The game is significantly more forgiving than its previous iteration: Monster Hunter World and Iceborne, but that doesn't mean that it is lesser due to that. For veterans of the series the fights are quite easy, but do pose a pretty unique challenge for new players/players picking up a weapon for the first time. While some people will view that in a negative light, I think that it was nice that all of the monsters were damage sponges so I could experience all that Wilds had to offer as far as innovations in the weapons designs/movesets. Not to mention it gave me more of an opportunity to appreciate the story of this game as it is a MASSIVE improvement over previous iterations instead of being something that is typically skipped over. So I would give it a chance if that's something you're interested in!

All in all, I think the game is fantastic and a great experience as someone who has never really been a part of the launch community in a Monster Hunter title. While performance is not the greatest for most setups, I highly recommend enabling Frame Generation (if your card allows for it). As much as it pains me to recommend that setting, it is the only way to truly make the game playable....at least in my circumstance. Give the game some time to iron out the creases, be sure to look forward to the plenty of FREE title updates that will come out in the game's lifetime, and just have fun hunting monsters together! :)
