Honestly, I don't understand the review bombing of this map. Looks and runs excellently for me, and I don't even have that high-end of a rig (5800x3D, 7900 GRE, 32Gb DDR4 Mem). The Maeguana is a nifty addition, as are the new take on Alpha's with better loot. As long as you aren't trying to run the game on a Samsung smart fridge, I'd recommend giving it a try.

I genuinely think I would rather drag my nuts through 10 miles of blistering hot rusty nails than ever play a drive ranked game ever again.

We should not have had to wait almost a year after 7.0's launch to receive any meaningful story writing or non-raid content. SE continue to homogenise jobs and remove any identity, with the promise of it's return in 8.0 (Which is likely another 2 years out). Skip this expansion and check in during 8.0.

Unless you've got a 3000 series card or higher, don't even bother with this. Looks great, but performance is abysmal, not to mention the unholy amount of graphical issues and texture warping/glitching. Averaged around 30-35 on the lower settings @ 1440p. Just play the standard game instead. Same game, no graphical issues, and won't turn your GPU into a grill.

Ran on a 2070 Super, 3700x @ 4.4ghz, 32Gb DDR4 3600mhz memory, nVMe SSD.

I am now prepared to swing through the ruins of the post apocalyptic future we are headed towards thanks to this game, not to mention I'm now more ripped than Arnold Schwarzenegger at his prime.

This game made me despise AI, so I can only imagine what it does to friendships.

10/10, would have 2 card deck stolen again.

Playing again, just to experience the ending again.

Seriously though, where do I begin?

The game, in my eyes, is just that good, that I'm using an "achievement run" as an excuse to play it again. Even on the HTC vive, this game looks absolutely breathtaking. You can tell that the development team poured their heart and soul into ensuring that Half-Life:Alyx was an immersive vr experience, and boy did they do that AND THEN SOME.
The soundtrack for this game is superb, as with the other half life titles. Be it the creepy ambience when exploring the headcrab and zombie filled tunnels, or the upbeat, epic tracks blasting as you zap combine bullet sponges with your own damn hands
The game is really well optimised for how good it looks. I'm currently running a GTX 1070 Dual OC, Ryzen 7 3700x, and 16Gb of DDR4 RAM, and playing on high fidelity, as well as upscaling the game to 130%. Not a hitch the entire game, even whilst streaming at the same time.

I'm not one for writing journalist grade reviews, just know that if you own a VR headset, this game is an absolute must buy, added bonus if you're a big half life fan such as myself.

They added EAC in their most recent update, a kernel based anti-cheat. This is problematic for many reasons.

1. This adds extra workload for a game that already runs like absolute s##t.
2. Prevents the use of all mods, including QoL and performance improvement mods which made the game easier to run and access, especially for people with disabilities and such or lower end PC's.
3. In extreme cases, malicious users, once they find a workaround for EAC, will be able to cause more extensive disruption and/or damage.

As a long time player and supporter (6+ years) of this platform, this just feels like a massive ♥♥♥♥-you to the community who made vrchat the social platform giant it is today.

I have cancelled my VRC+ subscription, as it seems that it's the only way to reach the development team. The community has been trying to inform you about the significant improvements these 3rd party developers make to your platform, and you just refuse to listen. II highly recommend you do the same and upvote posts on the VRChat canny so that this update is reverted.
