Everyone keeps complaining that it is a terrible remake and compare it to Spyro or Crash.
It's not a remake.. it is a simple rerelease.

It is clunky like a 90's game
Few additions that make it more fun

10/10 It's tail time

Remember Me has to be one of the biggest disappointments in recent gaming.

The strong premise and setting was entirely under played. Couple this with a failure of a combat system and you have a missed oppurtunity of epic proportions.

The idea of a world where bad memories are discarded for better ones filled with 'Hunters' that go around stealing them like some Inception-like spies is enthralling. I look around the beautiful enviroments with glee and awe, yet every turn is a locked gate or some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ excuse for a turn around. This chokes the player, suffocating them, and forcing a single path that in my own experience caused an overwhelming feel leaving too much to look at in such a small straight area. As the game progressed this never got better, eventually I stopped being impressed by the game's beauty and only cared about finishing it.

Even the core mechanic that had so much promise fell straight flat on its' face. Seeing that you are one of the best Memory Hunters 2084's Paris has to offer you have the gift of changing people's memories for your own gain. These far and few between sequences , a whopping four times in an eight plus hour story, only serve as tedious exposition. Now I'll admit that exposition in a plot driven game is crucial, but the way the developers handled it could have been the worse way they could. Instead of manipulating the character's mind in some intriguing way, the sequences devolve into an endless series of repetitive trial and error rewinds. This brings up another one of my major problems with the game... The protagonist is willfully altering these people's memories and in turn personalities. How is this moral, or even just. The comments our protagonist make in the level gap cutscenes blatantly says that only the evil naughty do-dooers justify the means to an end, so is she saying what she does is wrong? ...No, Because there is no punishment or radifications for her actions except one which initiated the game and could be argued has no weight in the true scheme.

Lastly, The failed combat. The concept, like everything in this game, falls short. The way that it was structured had me feeling like I was inside of an eight hour tutorial, and because of that no satisfaction ever came. The combat on a whole felt more like padding..

Follow the designated path, fight, path, follow, cutscene, fight, path, fight, path...

This game was destroyed by its' high ambitions and lack of follow up.

Arkham City sits at one of my most favorite games of recent years, it was perfectly made and well paced. How exactly could they improve it, shortly put.. They didn't. This game, after being handed over from the orginal developers, was flat out copied over. It feels generally like what I would expect in a DLC, not a full priced game.

However, I do recommend this game fully. Just not at full price.
I preordered this not expecting much, but what I did get was a dose of strong story telling and character development and is definitely worth playing if you can make it past the thirty year old man child that is our immature protagonist.

- The map is now larger, covering portions of soon to be Arkham City and New Gotham, albeit empty due to a cop out excuses of curfew. Even with this larger area, the game feels intolerably lonely and devoid of creativity that was present in the previous titles.

+ The music is more fitted to the Christmas themed enviroment, my favorite being The Joker's Theme. Which is allowing of an eerie but calming feel.

- The Boss battles fall flat, being a series of button mashes and repetition. Except Deadshot, it took me forever to beat him and I loved every single agonizing death with restart. This though does not make up for the failure which very well could have been a surpass to the fight with Mr Freeze in Arkham CIty.

+ A semi-detailed look into the canon background of The Joker, directly referencing The Red Hood. With a major plus of showing him as being what he is, the polar opposite of Batman.. being given no choice to do what he must because that is the way society has made him, just as Bruce has been made into what he is by the actions of others... mainly Joe Chill.

+ Well delivered characters especially Edward Nigma, whose appearance was more horned in than ever before, but welcomed. He made me question if what I was doing was the moral thing to do, yet Big Bad Bat Bruce seemed to ignore it, lost potential there.

- Immature Brat Bat. I understand that this is supposed to be an origin story, ignoring that Bruce crowned the cowl two years before the start, but he is such a ♥♥♥♥♥ at times. He is even straight cruel to Alfred and even endangers him time after time because of his careless nature.

+/- The newly added and changed features were some iffy choices.
- No Bruce, You cannot have gadgets seven years before the prototype was made.
+ Crime Scenes show the true detective skills that make Batman the "World's Greatest Detective." (Even if they were kinda look here click, look there click.)
- Very Eh Upgrade system, feeling more like the linear choices of Arkham Asylum.

I could go on for hours about this game, and no I didn't play the multiplayer and am ignoring the glitches because I didn't buy it for the multiplayer and I'm sure anyone reading this has yet to buy the game, not needing to worry about now patched glitchums. The bottom line is the game is good, but falls short of the hype and glory that Arkham City had. It's worth looking into buying to see how the story progresses, just don't look for a worthy sequel/prequel in this.

If City was a strong 10/10 than this would have to be at max 6/10... Asylum 8.

The year is 1989.
Around the world there is violence.. The Tiananmen Square massacre in China is watched live by millions, Suicide bombings in Jerusalem, and the premiere of Seinfeld airs. But among these tragedies a collection of murders in the heart of Miami make headlines, brutal slayings of mobsters.

This amazing game combines the ultimate soundtrack and marries it with an incredibly difficult fast-paced beat um up-ish type game were you take the role of an unnamed protagonist in an top down viewed world of the 80's.

You are given just as much health as your enemies, this is where the difficulty lies. Unless you have bullet fast reaction times, you will die.. and die a lot. You are punished for being an imperfect filthy human. But not to fret cause to your aid comes a series of masks that conceal your identity and give you special perks, like faster moving speeds or insta kill punches.

The gameplay itself reminds me of an old underground flash game, that kind that used to piss you off but use it's grand music to keep pumping adrenaline in you to not stop..

Like all good things this came to a quick end, I beat it with the 'Normal' ending in just about four hours. Yet fear not fore the replayability for this game is unreal, there are tons of masks to find and achievements to unlock... plus the secret ending.

~~~~~~~~~
+Replayable
+Incredible Soundtrack
+Really Cheap Price
+Fun strategic gameplay
+Gamepad usable
-Difficulty depending on player, if you have bad reflexes stay away
