The micro management quickly becomes macro management...it's a fine line to ride, but it hits that sweet spot pretty well. The DLCs have helped a lot from some of the dragging mid game, other updates have fixed most of the early issues - the developers really support this one. Jump on in!

Finely tuned side scrolling dodge shooter. Distilled to nearly its perfect form, as you play (and eventually find your limits and die) you'll improve until you hit a wall that feels unfair ...and that's where the rebirth system comes into play, loosing all unlocked abilities but starting over even stronger. Daily and weekly challenges give ample opportunity to level back up until you hit that wall again. 4/5 stars in my book.

Before No Man's Sky made procedurally generated planets a thing to lothe, Starbound did it right. Up until version 1.0 I would not have recommended it over the other really popular dig n' build game Terraria , but the addition of the over arching story really gives this game a sense of place and time, and a reason to play besides finding out what's on the other side of the wall. Highly recommended.

[Update November 2017] About two patches in, they fixed this. Finally. And as you can see from my 400+ hours, it's fantastic. Can't wait to play it again in VR!

It's official, Bethesda hates left handed gamers. Again. This feels like deja vu, but only five minutes into Fallout 4 and I want to return it. But just like Skyrim, I'll figure out some stupid keyboard remapping software to play this one (strike that, second) game correctly from a studio that should know better. Why can't we remap the num pad @Bethesda? And why has this not been fixed since Skyrim?

That was incredible. Could have used a little finese in one scene towards the end that had very little explanation, but I was impressed.

Wow, cannot wait for this to get out of Beta! The new Boost tower adds another layer of strategy to an already exciting game. They also allow you to rotate the board to see it from different vantage points, and the graphics are improved over the original. The Beta has been fairly stable in the short time I've played it, but it did have sound issues after a long session.

Harder than Fallout 3, yet it seems more balanced. Whether you want to bring the righteous hammer of justice down on those who've slighted you, or just explore the Shows, Gambling, and Prostitution the strip is known for - you'll find it all in New Vegas.
